Description I did this quick drawing while waiting and watching the PS4 announcement. A Tetsuya Nomura Final FantasyxZelda hybrid hero with a Skyward Sword style. The design is a bit tongue-in-cheek of course, with pouches and zippers, etc. all around. In true Squeenix fashion the Goddesses would in the end be evil, even Hylia (Squeenix does have a thing against Religion) while Ganon would be just a puppet boss.

Bonus Pokedoodle I did too: [link]

Now some rambling about gaming:
I don't know about most people, but I feel like I'm no longer the audience for console gaming. The PS4 did nothing to hype me, and I'm even considering selling my PS3 because it's just not the console I use for most of my gaming time anymore. All the focus on Social this and Social that are just annoying, and games have largely lost their style. If you've seen my gallery you would know I value style and escapism a lot, so seeing that console and PC games are even deepening more into ultra realism is just disappointing. All the color and style is gone and it doesn't seem like the focus on FPSs will change anytime soon, with RPGs,fighting, driving games being a bit niche nowadays. The less said about platformers, shoot'emups and adventure games which are all almost dead. My favorite companies Capcom, Squeenix, Konami, Namco are mostly a joke compared to past years. And...eh, I'll just keep my 3DS.

The bases of the series is that Link is a god. So, I doubt SE could possibly pull that off a all the gods evil angel.

Great work, interesting design.

As far as the companies are concerned, well... there'll always be Nintendo for the true gamers That's kind of funny to think about, cause Sony said that their target audience are the "core gamers" this time around, but it looks like they'll just have a sequel to everything they already have on the PS3... Though teh same could be said of Nintendo and Microsoft too, at least Nintendo's more honest. :/

And at least Nintendo usually does 1 sequel per generation, so it's every 5 years or so. I wished Sony had something innovative and fun, but that didn't happen at all.

I feel that the realism in these games are more about feeling that atmosphere in a deeper sense. When you play games like Skyrim or Dark Souls, it is the essence of the realistic nature in that world that draws you in. No setting would be good without adequate details. I learned that from writing fiction novels.

Anyway, good job on this piece. I love it!

It depends on the person, but I understand what you're saying. The more realistic something is, the easier for the gamer will be put themselves in the role. Thanks!

I did not mean realistic as the way people think in the sense of making it like the sims, boring and dull, but rather make the world of that game more detailed. It's hard to explain, but you need a detailed setting of a world you create to make it feel like the player is actually in that world. Therefore, if you have a world like Skyrim, the game's graphics should be as detailed as possible to engross the player in it. whatever you are not able to see, though, should be explained in some detail. For example, when you search for the Golden Claw in the first mission, the storekeeper describes the Claw as a golden, beautiful key, rather then just saying that it was a claw that you have to go find.

This is what I mean by "realistic". Many game designers or novelists do not understand that details are really what make a story.

How about writing an blog article about the matter on Game Art HQ? I could add my opinion about it too and together we had an article on the website which could form a discussion

For 3ds, I have Ocarina of time, Harvest moon: tale of two towns, resident evil revelations... I have a lot of other good games just for the DS though ahah. I really want to get the sequel to 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors on the 3ds

Yeah, the sequel sounds even better than 999. I really want to get Fire Emblem and Devil Summoner too.
