Description
ETA 24 April 2009: So apparently I fail at realizing that part of the border that I had previously coloured wasn't supposed to be in the original card designs. This has been fixed.
Purple and silver version of This , uploaded as a request.
Used in the following: [link] [link] [link]
To start, I took my class sketchbook (which is small, and therefore wouldn't waste as much paper as one of my 9x12 sketchbooks), sat in front of my TV with Fable II running but not in game, and carefully eyeballed one of the empty Save Game cards. Then I brought the sketchbook into class the next day and scanned the drawing in before using Photoshop and Painter to go over the drawing.
Finally, I found a paper texture , desaturated it, and set it to multiply over the border. Then used the magic wand tool to select the empty space in the middle and cut out the remaining texture in the middle and set it on a separate layer.
By the way, I do have permission from the texture's creator to use it for this.
So, to use this template is a simple matter. Open the .PSD file in Photoshop, Painter, or openCanvas—whichever you prefer; they all support .psd files. Do not move any of the layers. If you're in painter, you will need to delete the white layer above the canvas and paint on the canvas layer itself, otherwise it will not look right. Otherwise, lock the transparency on the aforementioned layer and paint on it. When your painting is done, set the texture layer's blend mode to "Multiply" and flatten the image. If you're in Painter, you will have to go into Photoshop and select the area around the card and delete it if you want to be transparent.
Enjoy, and comment, fav, and credit if you use!
