"Alright...we can go when you want to" Swinging suddenly lost its glory, but I continued nonetheless, and the playground seemed to have darken in a way that wasn't just caused by the lack of daylight.

I tease him a little further while coming to a stop on the swing "Go where?"

"Do I know where that is?" I'd already started in that direction when his stomach yelled at me "So...since this is your first night here do you want anything in particular for dinner?"

Me being the smart alek that I am at times was tempted to pass the apartment but thought better of it, the wind was picking up and I wasn't sure if a storm was due tonight. "That's kind of why I asked, it's nice to have a choice in what you eat every once in a while right?"

"Well...maybe something with chicken would be nice..." He said softly, smiling

"Alright...I guess you can wash up while I prepare something" Arriving at the apartment and walking in I let out a thankful sigh as the warmth hits me as I make my way back to the bathroom to start a bath for Chett.

I begin running the water, testing the temperatures "Are you going to be fine alone?" One hand grabs the little bundle that is Chett while the other unwraps the scarf and lays it on the counter, transferring Chett into my hands.

Chett smiled. "I'll be fine, trust me..." He said, resting a hand lightly on one of your finger tips

"Alright... I will" Gently I move my hands to the sink and set him down, turning off the water and walking out to get started on dinner.

I'd managed to get a small pot of homemade chicken noodle soup started after about ten minutes.

As I open the door the smell of soup drifts into the bathroom "Did that feel nice?" I place my hand on the counter

He nodded, climbing on with a smile as he sneezed

"You're not getting sick are you?" He's so small that even his sneezes are adorable!

He blushed. "I...I might..."

I bring him up to my lips and very gently placed his forehead to my lips before taking him away "You feel warm...I think you should eat and go straight to bed" When I was feeling his temperature I thought nothing of the way I'd checked, it was the way I was taught.

Chett blinked, looking confused and blushed. "...did that count...as a kiss...?" He asked, confused

"...What...I was simply checking your temperature" I do the same thing again "That would be a kiss because I wasn't checking your temperature that time. Why do you ask?" Having made it back to the kitchen with Chett, I set him on the counter and get a desert bowl and the smallest spoon I have before sitting in front of him and pushing everything towards him "Eat, it'll warm you up and then you can get to sleep."

He blushed deeper, looking up at you with wide eyes. "...so...why did you kiss me...? I thought people only kissed when they love the other..." He said, then turned his attention to the food, slowly starting to eat

"Well I kissed you to show you the difference but people kiss for different reasons. Was that you're way of asking how I felt about you? I apologize, I'm not the best at reading people or their emotions." That is what he wanted to know right?

He blushed. "But...I...um...never mind..." He mumbled, looking away

"Well if you want an answer then I do love you...but not in a intimate sort of way and I don't think you like me in an intimate sort of way. I mean if you do then I'm afraid that it might be because of what I did rather than who I am. We've only met today and saying we love each other would be a little like Romeo and Juliet and end in tragedy. However if you wish to get to know me and I you then maybe true feelings can form...if that's what you were implying" I hope I didn't hurt him with my words but I didn't want him to be in such a rush and be disappointed later, or maybe my words were simply words of wisdom. "...I'm sorry"

"Wait...what do you mean have a shot? You mean you actually wanted to try..." In all honesty I wasn't expecting that and I didn't know how to respond. "I-I'm not really the dating type but...yeah you're chances of having a shot are about 85% better than most people" That's just the way I thought and I was often oblivious.

He laughed a bit, then shrugged. "A lot of people seem to be against same-gender relationships..."

"I never really had a view on it as long as they don't make-out in public but that's the way I feel for any relationship not just homo-sexual. Actually I often mess with people and pretend I don't know how to tell the gender and when they describe it to me I give them an awestruck look and ask if there really is supposed to be something there...sorry I'm really weird" Funny I never blush but at that moment I did.

"Maybe now you can joke around...well actually now you should be heading to bed since you have a fever, are you finished eating?" It was getting quite late in the evening.

"Alrighty then" Quickly putting away the leftovers and rinsing out the dishes used to be washed later, I return to the counter where I'd left Chett and gently cradle him in my hands, taking him to my room and depositing him on the bed. "I'm going to go wash up real quick, meanwhile try to get comfortable and go to sleep." With that said I enter the bathroom and turn on the shower.

When I'm dressed and out the shower I make sure to turn off the lights before stepping out into the dark room, in case he was asleep.

I'd stopped at the edge of the bed and bent down so that I avoided being a shadow looming over Chett in the dark. However I wa having trouble deciding how I wanted to do this. If he was already asleep and I got on the bed it would no doubt wake him up...maybe it'd be best to just sleep beside the bed, maybe lean against it if he woke up and needed anything...

Chett groaned a bit, shivering slightly as he whimpered, starting to wake up

I guess that determines it, I slowly get up, moving to the other side of the bed and lay down getting comfortable. Afterwards I reach over and do as I promised earlier and place Chett on my chest to sleep with my hand over him, both of us tucked under the covers.

I was tired from today and was already asleep when he had spoken but miraculously his words had reached me and I pushed him a little closer to myself.
