Kendall jolted, and then froze, his face going a little red. "Giving you a back rub..." he said softly.

The blush immediately deepened, and Kendall shifted his hands so that one was covering Chett and he couldn't see.

Chett pushed at his fingers. "Hey, no fair~ You're using size against me~"

"So were you..." Kendall muttered, not moving his hands.

"What do you mean?"

Kendall's blush deepened even more, and he decided not to answer. "Never mind..." he said, finally lifting his hand off of Chett and letting him see again. "Do you want me to put you down now?"

Chett shook his head, blushing. "Actually...can you...rub my back again?"

"You... you liked it?" Kendall asked, surprised. And here he'd been afraid that Chett might get mad and think that Kendall only thought of him as a cute little animal or something... Which wasn't true! That was just the way he was afraid it would be interpreted.

He smiled and nodded. "Yeah...I did...that's why I let you rub it that long when I was awake..."

"You... you were awake?" Kendall asked, mortified. Oh great... now the teasing would begin, he was sure of it...

Chett nodded. "And I enjoyed every second of it."

"Really?" Kendall asked, a bit doubtful but hopeful.

He nodded, smiling and nuzzling against Kendall

"Okay..." Kendall said, smiling a little. His blush began to fade. Gently, he turned Chett onto his back again, starting to rub the tiny's back with his thumbs. "Like this?"

Chett smiled and relaxed, closing his eyes. "Exactly..."

Kendall smiled and nodded, continuing the rubbing. He was glad that Chett wasn't judging him for this.

Chett relaxed, smiling and soon almost falling asleep

"You going back to sleep?" Kendall asked, amused. He shook his hands just a little. "Stay awake for a moment longer; I want to ask you something."

Chett opened his eyes a crack, looking up at Kendall. "Hmm?"

"How old are you?"

Kendall nodded. "I'm sixteen," he said. "Okay, you can go to sleep now."

He smiled a bit, closing his eyes again

Kendall got up, stopping his rubbing and just cradling Chett in his hand. "I'm going to see what I can put together for a bed for you," he said.

Kendall smiled a bit, and then when he got to his room, he set Chett on the pillow on his bed for temporarily while he tried to figure out how to make a tiny bed for him.

Chett curled up happily, snoring softly

"Cute..." Kendall said softly, looking over at him, and then he shook his head sharply, driving the thought out. "Now, a tiny bed... they always use something like a matchbox in the movies... but I don't think we have any empty ones..."

After a bit of searching, Kendall found something that might work: a gum tin with one piece still in it. Popping the gum into his mouth, he went over to the pillow where Chett lay and very gently spread him out so that he was lying outstretched and compared his height to the length of the container. He had perhaps a quarter of an inch to spare. Releasing the tiny, Kendall straightened again. Now for the bedding.

Chett had squirmed a bit when he was spread out, then curled back up again, smiling

"Since you seem to prefer sleeping curled up, length shouldn't be an issue at all..." Kendall observed with a faint smile. Would cotton balls work? No, that would be too lumpy... If he had a handkerchief, he might fold it up and put it inside, but those were rather outdated, and he didn't have one.

Chett smiled, sleeping peacefully with no interruptions to his sleep pattern

Kendall sighed. He couldn't think of anything to stuff the bed with! Sitting down on the bed, he decided to wait until Chett woke up and ask him.

Chett stirred, waking an hour later

"Hi," Kendall said, waving to him a little. "I found something to put your bed in... but I couldn't think what to make the bed itself out of. Any suggestions?"

"Yes?" Kendall asked.

"...I...I don't know...maybe tissues?"

"Hm... sounds a bit demeaning, but since you suggested it, I suppose you probably wouldn't mind, huh?"

He shrugged. "Not really."

"Okay, I'll do that, then," Kendall said, getting up. He grabbed the gum tin, went over to his tissue box, and started to fill it, layering the tissues inside carefully. "By the way..." he said, not looking over to Chett as he did, "my parents will be coming home tomorrow..."

Chett looked down a bit. "So I guess...I'll have to leave tomorrow...huh...?"

"No, you'll just have to decide whether to stay hidden or to let them know about you," Kendall corrected.

"Okay then, I can keep you a secret," Kendall decided. Turning around, he set the makeshift bed on the pillow next to Chett. "What do you think?"

Kendall smiled. "Oh, good," he said. Nudging Chett gently with his fingertips, he urged, "Try it out!"
