'Oh crud,' I think to myself as I freeze as you pick me up, failing to notice that I froze with one of my arms out of its normal position.

"Hmm...that's not how I left your arm..." I muttered to myself, frowning. "And I definatly felt something earlier..."

'Ah! I forgot about my arm!' I think, eyes trembling with fear as I watch you try to piece everything together, 'Oh please don't realize it...'

"God, I'll sound crazy in a second...are you...alive?"

I flinch again. I stay still for a long time, hoping that you'll give up but I soon notice that you won't. Finally, I turn to fully face you and nod, "...y-yes...a-and you d-don't sound crazy t-to me..."

"Oh my...I cant believe this...you're..."

"Please don't freak out!" I exclaim, fearing that you're about to freak out and toss me by accident.

"I...I wont..." I said, hearing a slight hint of fear in your voice

"Thank goodness," I sigh in relief, "I was afraid that you might forget that I'm tiny and toss me by accident."
I smile nervously at you, "I-I know that this is kind of weird and freaky to find out all of the sudden, but I really am alive."

"How...when? I mean, this entire time, I had no idea..."

"I've always been alive. Since the first day that you got me, I've been alive, watching over you. That's a toy's job," I say, "We are giving to children to look after and make smile as much as we can. We all know that you're going to grow up and stop playing with us, so we try our best to make the times that we have memorable. That way, when the children that we watch over get older and run into hard times, they have pleasant memories to look back on. So that way, they will always be able to smile, even when we are gone."

"Gone...like if the kid throws them out or gives them away?"

"Or if we become so broken that we can't be repaired..." I say sadly, "And sometimes, just when the child has grown up and we have completed our jobs...we just fall into a deep sleep to await the next child that needs us...A few will be lucky enough to have been found by a new child or that our old child will find us and give us to their children, but most are not so lucky..."

"Oh...but what if the first kid never grows up? Well, if they never grow up MENTALLY..."

"So long as that they need us to help make them happy, we will stay," I explain, "We stay by the sides of our children for a long as they need us. When they no longer need us to make them smile, that's when our jobs are done. That's when we have to leave."

"But...I'd never want you to leave..."

"Most kids don't, but that's part of growing up," I smile sadly, "However, I don't think I'll be leaving for a long time. You may not play with me anymore, but you do still seek me out to talk and vent about things that you have trouble with. After you've had a hard day, you come in and simply talk to me about it and then you almost always feel better. Just like you did today."
I rub your finger gently, "You might have grown up a lot since you first got me but you still haven't outgrown me. And until you do not need or want me, I will always be here for you."

I smiled. "Thanks...you know, growing up you were my only friend...and you're still one of my best friends."

"Really?" I laugh slightly before looking over at the picture on your dresser, "But I'm not your only friend. You have several people that care for you dearly."

"Yeah...it's just us. Me, Denny, Seth, Cassidy...and of course you, if they ever find out..."

"I'd prefer it if they didn't. We aren't really supposed to expose ourselves to any other than our child, and only if the child figures it out themself."

"Well, we aren't exactly to make it easy for you to figure it out," I giggle, "You did startle me pretty good and get me to freeze out of position. That's a pretty good way at piecing it together compared to how you could have."

"That's okay," I say as I stretch, "I have a question though. How come your friends haven't been around for a while?"

"They went to camp to learn how to be CITs..."

"CITs?" I ask, tilting my head to the side a bit, "Sorry, but what is that?"

"CIT means Counslers in Training."

"Ah," I nodded, staying silent for a moment before looking at you curiously, "Um...What is it that you want to be when you are older?"

"I dont know...havent thought about that yet."

"Well, what do you like to do now? What are you favorite things at this point?" I asked, smiling happily, "That's really all you need to ask yourself."

I looked at you confused, "How can you not know that? What do you spend most your time doing? What makes you smile the most? What can you see yourself never living with out?"

"What makes me smile most and what I can't see myself living without is you..."

I blush before looking away, embarrassed, "O-oh..." I stay quiet for a few moments, never making eye contact when a brilliant idea hits me, "Wh-What about becoming a toy designer?"

"Yes!" I nod rapidly, "You say that your favorite thing and most precious thing is me, a toy, right?" I blush once again before continuing, "So what if you turn that into a desire to create more toys for other children to love and grow up with?"

"Hmm...that's not bad idea...but I cant draw too good..."

"But you do have an amazing imagination," I point out, remembering days passed, "There are so many other positions that you could fill that doesn't require a great artistic talent~! Besides, you can draw just fine." I cross my arms with the last part.

I smiled a bit, and gently pressed you to my cheek in an attempted hug
