I have to say that the emotion put in her is a very good job. Because, every story needs a couple of sad moments, right?
Anyway, in the chapter, I completely agree with Jeffrey statements here...for a couple of reasons. First of all, despite her experience, she's still a poor fortune hunter. That's obviously why Jeffrey says on the next page, "Why not come back after another 10 years?" Secondly, she's got involved with a lot of troublesome events and ended up getting hurt...hence the attack of the Vulture Boys. And finally, her mutual respect for one of the antagonists: Stream the Hawk.
So, yeah, she just needs a lot of more practice and she's good to go...Not that I have anything Ruby (though my character does in Burning Fur III)

Authentic means worthy of belief, as because of precision or faithfulness to an original. In other words the treasure is not counterfeit or fake - it's real and pure.
Bandits will be wasting their time stealing treasure from fortune hunters if it's not authentic treasure pieces in the first place. *thumbs up*
