Descending from the spacecraft that arrived on the Xmen's doorstep, the alien at first spoke in her native tongue, Charles opened his mind and was met with a voice so unique that he began to understand the new visitor's language. The alien revealed herself as Lilandra Neramani.

She communicated with Charles telepathically, revealing to him that she hails from what she refers to as Chandilar the Throneworld. her race are known as the Shi'ar, a proud avian race from the planet Aerie that has conquered and ruled several star systems under their control. Lilandra is the third in line to the throne, but with an older sister in exile and her brother D'ken ruling with a cruel iron fist. Lilandra was forced to work from the shadows during her time as Grand Admiral of the Imperial Guard, hoping to overthrow her tyrannical brother and establish peace among Shi'ar space. What pressed her for time was that D'ken was coveting the energies emanating from the sacred jewel known as the M'krann Crystal.

Lilandra arrived, following the Phoenix Force, an entity that is often revered among her people as a god related to her people's religion. But was too late to stop the entity from taking on a host and request its aid. Charles wanted to put forth a plan, but Cyclops was too rattled by the revelation that Vulcan was his little brother. he was now determined to save his brother. Both he, Havok and the full rostered Xmen decided to head to the Hellfire Club on a rescue mission.

Feeling like he can't reason with them, Lilandra offered to help him and Moira wake up Jean Grey from her comatose state. feeling that the combined telepathic probe will help wake her up. Charles hopes that Jean might be the key to the whole situation.

Lilandra was a recent creation and one of my first time making her. Her first look is a homage to Dave Cockrum's original design. Her second look is the armored royal garb she will later sport as Majestrix of the Shi'ar. also an updated version of the one she is usually seen wearing in the comics.
