Description Here is an early version of Gadget that I did as a private commission. I didn't have a digital camera and my camera's flash didn't work. But I think it turned out fine all the same

Wow, this one looks amazing! And looks like it would have been quite difficult as well! What is it made out of ? It looks like it could break easily, unless the material isn't fragile or so.

I still wish I could get a commission off ya too, but I'm unsure if I can afford it yet *I don't even know the price range so yeah but I'll be getting quite a bit of money into my Paypal soon...*

wow! your sculpting is so amazing! im so jealous of your talents <333
how do u do it? make a sculpt first then a make a mold around it?

mm, private commisions?
you mean u do commisions? how much would u charge?

darkwax In reply to PerjuChan [2007-09-09 05:12:08 +0000 UTC]

Oh, you shouldn't be jealous, but thank you very much all the same. Your work is quite amazing as well. But to answer your question, yes, i start out with the sculpt first. Get it all detailed and perfect. Then the next step is to make a mold of it by setting up the figure in a foam core box cut to the size of the figure, making sure that there are no leaks and then pouring in the silicone that will cover the entire figure (and there are several ways to do this). Then when it's set, cut out the figure, clean out the mold, and then pour in the resin. After that, it's a matter of clean up and painting

excellent work! I can't help notice how well you sulpted her butt. Who's more the perv here? The one who sculpted it, or the one who noticed it XD

darkwax In reply to Dragonrider1227 [2007-07-16 04:01:31 +0000 UTC]

Who indeed! It may sound strange, but when I sculpt a figure, I begin with the butt, then work my way outwards

Ah to be young again, then , I was in my twenties, so that makes me ancient now. But Dinsey let me down with too many duck-theamed shows that really anoyed me

einahpets In reply to darkwax [2007-06-03 22:55:52 +0000 UTC]

I guess it was just the ducks golden age? But hey, I liked some of those shows... but then again, I pretty much watched anything on Disney Channel (at the time) sooo..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

darkwax In reply to AACrashBurn [2007-06-02 02:29:33 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. But unfortunately, this was made before I learned to make molds so it's a one of a kind. But you can ask to have a new one commissioned

Y'know, now that I've regained my senses, I wonder how much that commission costed.

I seem to get that reaction all the time. It's been so long ago when I made that model that i just can't remember. But these days, my prices have gone up. I just need a suggestion of what character, size and pose

Magnificent - the pose and expression are right on the mark! Beautiful work B -))-

Might we use this one in the "Chip n Dale's Rescue Rangers" fan art calendar?

You were kind enough to allow us to post your other Gadget sculpture in this month's (May) issue
