Description The Nightmare Before Christmas - Jack Skellington and Zero

AKA- What TNBC would look like if it was by Tad Stones instead of Tim Burton.

Did I ever mention how this is my favorite movie of all time? No? Huh...Weird.

I was just doodling in iscribble while hanging out with Moonie, and I made a sketch. The sketch ended up looking better than I planed, so I moved it over to sumopaint and gave it some quick colors. Tadaaaa.

Too adorable! I love the coloring technique, and the expressions and poses (tho' Jack's arm looks like it's going into Zero's mouth and out his head, which I guess it could, since Zero's a ghost, but it doesn't seem like that was the intent...)

LOL. Riiiiight, riiiiight. that was TOTALLY my intentions all along. Yep, not the fact I didn't even notice it could look that way. Yeeeeep.

Heh. Thank you. But seriously, I was trying to make it seem that Zero was swooping his head around the arm. Since his body is like a flexible blanket. Does it make it look too awkward that way?

I think if you showed a little more of Zero's ear to the left of where Jack's hand is (to show it going under his hand, instead of just implying it by drawing the bulk of the ear already behind the hand), and closed Zero's mouth a little more so it overlapped more with Jack's arm (to more strongly show that the jaws are in FRONT of the arm rather than engulfing it), it'd be fine.

Very nice drawing! Sadly, I've never really been a fan of this film, although I do love the music!

Heh, way back in '05, when 'Corpse Bride' came out, I thought the trailers looked so awesome... unfortunately, the movie itself was quite a different story. Bleh.

My fave film of all time is Disney's 'Pinocchio.'

Btw, ever wish that Bushroot treated poor Spike as nice as Jack treats Zero?

LOl. I guess you never read the Nightmare Before Christmas picture book, then. In the book, it says that Jack's depression of sorts causes him to ignore Zero. That's why the scene where Jack has Zero be his Rudolph is so important. Zero finally feels needed and wanted. If anything, Jack and Bushroot are alike in that regard. They both love their pets/friends...but they get distracted.

i love the film. I'm just not big on how it has become twisted. It's essentially the gothic version of the Disney Princess line. Or, we can say, it has become very much like Invader Zim. It sells so well, but it has become this big cult following. I can't help but feel that what TNBC was all about has been lost. This is a very happy film. So raw, energetic, and full of life! And half the people I find that like my beloved movie are some of the most depressing people I've ever met. Not everybody is like this. But...I don't know, it bothers me. I prefer to just stay in my bubble and just enjoy it by myself and loved ones.

This movie is very very special to me. LOL.

I went to go see that movie right before I went into the hospital. The DVD came out around christmas. 05...That was not a good year.

Er, but yes! I happened to have enjoyed it. Not as big of an impact as TNBC was. But...It's one of those films I can just pop out on a rainy day to watch with my sisters. I ended up liking the secondary characters in that movie the most, though. Like Bonejangles and Mrs. Widow.

LOl. Pinocchio is a great movie. How can you not like Jiminy Cricket?

Btw, do Jack's toys kinda remind you of a certain somebody else's toys? I'm sure both Jacks would claim their toys are not dangerous, merely misunderstod. LOL

Jiminy is my all-time favorite animated character, btw. The film, and the character, are very dear to my heart. It's just such a wonderful film, on all levels.

I always thought Quacky would have made for a great Nightmare Before Christmas reference episode. And actually, I have an idea for a Grinch/NBC spoof comic cover involving Quacky. Let's hope I get to it.

I think the only real difference between Jack and Quacky, is that Jack feels sorry when he realizes he wrecked everything. Quacky...would never get like that. It'll always be everyone elses fault for not getting him or his toys.

I always loved the water animation from the movie. Besides thinking of Jiminy...that's the second thing that comes to mind when I think of Pinocchio. XD

Oh, that would be awesome! Can't wait to see it!

This Christmas, I've been thinking of doing a Grinch spoof where Megs and Quacky steal Christmas- Megs wants to liberate all the lights, while Quacky wants to replace all the toys and video games with QuackerJack Toys. Or maybe a semi-NBC spoof, where Jacky goes to the North Pole, kidnaps Santa, and has all the poor elves make his own toys... which he happily delivers himself.

It makes me sad to think I'll never see this You are such a cruel person. You made me cry, I hope you're happy.

But seriously. The lines, the crisp colors and harmonic color pallet, the expressive characters... everything about this makes it look like something straight out of a picture book. I looove this. You give both of them an extra 'awww' factor. And let's be honest; they had a good deal of it before.

Oh look, how did THIS get here. It must have popped up while I was busy away, doing eeeeeeviiiiil! OoOoOOoOoO!

i think all the characters are adorable. I don't see how anyone can hate anything about this movie. But I'm also biased. Extremely so. But seriously, thank you! I wouldn't go as far as you did, but I appreciate the love all the same.
