Thank you! The colors were trying to go with things you'd see in Louisiana Voodoo. It's the kind of voodoo influences I see in her. And it makes for more interesting backgrounds when I imagine she's going to walk out into a fun house.

I have a question...I was doing research on the stuff I showed you, and I found something important to note. Voodoo is a term more for the religion. Hoodoo is more the magical part you see in films and such. Do you want Stringdoll going down the more religious route? Or do you want it to be more like her being a witch with some magical powers? Either way, I think you can make it work into her story. I ask because I've been trying to think of ideas to present to you.

Also found a voodoo spirit called Eshu(Exu), a Trickster. He is know as a spirit of chaos and pranks. In Louisiana Voodoo/hoodoo they refer him to Papa Legba. I was trying to think of a way to work Paddywhack into Stringdoll's back-story. What if she mistakes Paddywhack for this spirit?

I dont think StringDoll would be that stupid xD She looks crazy, but is more clever than other villains, what makes her survive in St Canard.
But that is very interesting... Maybe that could somehow fit with SD backstory...
She meets paddywhack more in the future. So it wouldnt be in her bio. Even not the meeting with Jacques, her sidequick xD.

I think she just likes Paddywhack cause she somehow feels close to him. She is annoying for others and disliked. And she has a curse too.
AND she loves strange things that have to do with underworld creatures xD ( hohoo! Its a bit like Lydia and Beetlejuice xD [the serie] )

I think they use the term "voodoo" because they just don't know better. I think many, like ourselves, confuse the two as the same thing. Remember both the magical people in "Princess and the Frog"? Momma Ootie was more going along the voodoo religion. Where Doctor Facilier was going more towards the route of hoodoo.
Hoodoo seems to run through all three of them. But is more noted in Louisiana Voodoo.
I also found something interesting. Both irish and Spainish (of spain) both have roots in witchcraft and celtic. And Louisiana Voodoo, Irish, and Spanish mythos have Catholicism roots. I was looking these up because I was going to try and convince you to go more down the route of mixing your culture more with the voodoo. I'm trying to see if I can find any myths that go around magical children and demons/spirits and what not. I recall you saying you wanted someone to kidnap the newborn Stringdoll baby. well, it says that Gypsies were very common in Spain and their myths. You can always have one of them steal her. And it might be easier, too, since like i said it could be mixing your culture with the more African folklore. since, in all the types of voodoo, the african influences is constant. It'll make it more natural, too, if you partially write from what you know.

Well... i dunno nothing about my own culture and spain... so it would be as same hard for me.. .and i prefer her Irish. She was irish already from beginnig of the design xD

About the one who kidnaps her, is a homan woman, an old woman, that does hoodoo. ( thats why SD learns all about Hoodoo)... But my mom said, Irish does have nothing to do with Hoodoo.. so i thought okey... make SD irish but kidnaped by a Hoodoo Woman (This one needs a reason of chosing her, and thats what im looking for in folklore. Something that would make SD special in a way.) Up then, when SD is older... like 16, she discovers that was kidnaped and tries Poisoning the old woman... but this one is already atacked by someone she had made somehow a deal.. and had problems... i still didnt think carefully about that... Since then, SD improves her hoodoo to survive becoming a Thief with help of the dolls she could make....Curiosity brought her into problems with old Druids secrets in a forbidden Forest, getting the curse of double personality.(Thats why she is that big childish and at ones so serious and normal. What makes her look that crazy[but beeing more clever than you could thought. OF course! She is a woman xD]) She gets to Saint Canard by Ship, without no one knowing it... There, she discovers the Big Cities and chaos of them... She falls in love with Diamonds when in a Museum, a special day of the Diamond is beeing celebrated with a lot of curious gems. This museum, which closes a few months later cause of a crisis, is now StringDolls home. Those empty glasses that where ones filled with Diamonds and gems... are gonna be filled again by herself!

Homan woman? You mean human? I don't think that's a good idea. Normally the only time humans were shown on the show, was when they were aliens or in a different dimension. It makes it too unbelievable, even for DWD standards. LOL. I think you might want to try making her an animal too. Maybe a goat or a dog or a baboon, or something. And you'd also need to consider why a hoodoo woman was living in ireland. I have African-Irish ancestory, myself. So an African Hoodoo Woman wouldn't seem too far off, I guess. I'm having trouble finding myths now, actually. Buuuut...you could always just make something up. While you are incorporating a lot of RL influences, never forget that this is a cartoon. Not everything has to be factual. As long as it doesn't distract, it's all good!

She is a Wander... she travels through world making voodoo for those who pay her with money xD Making deals.. a bit like Facilier. Thats why she is from somewhere else,but is now in ireland.. knew about the special child.. kidnaped it.. and traveled again to another town. And still in ireland, she growed up the child, teaching her everything about Hoodoo, to make her powerfull so she would earn more money having her as sidequick by the job.
I think this woman would have one of those little houses you can travel with... Those car-houses.

You can always just make something up. Like Stringdoll was born on a blood-moon, when the moon looks red and orange. Maybe you can have it on that day the shadow spirits come out and play pranks and give curses. I'm sure is Momma Hoodoo (a name I thought of) was in the area, she might have magic to pick up anything like that going on. Maybe a newborn even touched by a shadow spirit is even believed to absorb some of the shadows magic.

There was something about Stringdoll I forgot to ask and didn't realize it until like 2 am last night...
Why DOES she want the diamonds? Why does she steal them? What purpose is it for? What is her motivation as a villain? Because so far just her randomly stealing diamonds doesn't make sense to her character.
LOL. I don't mind. It's just something I grabbed off of google anyway. But yeah, I was thinking something that looked like that, but bigger.
It must be the bone necklace. Remember, the skull one didn't work on him. Some principle like "I can only conjure magic for others. magic doesn't work for myself." You might be able to incorporate that into Stringdoll too. Like she has to trick people into "wishing" for things, and then she manipulates the magic and does the spell so it fits her goals.

She is like a magpie ( are they called so? Those birds that love shiny things?) she loves everything that is shiny. Of course, those with a big value. Not only that: The place she lives in is an Old Museum that was closed in St Canard. And the last thing that was exhibited there was a big Jewels and gems collection. So the showcases and places where you could see them are still there. She wants to recover all them and new ones for her own big personal collection. She does not steel everything, only those with a big story behind them... historic pieces... and those with big values only rich ones have.
Well, its perfect to make it not that complicate but nice. What is your opinion? I like it XD And i would see it like Faciliers home in the inside xD (NOT THAT BIG XD)

About that, well, maybe it complicates it a bit each time i want her to do something. She must have though a few spells and items for do things herself... At least, she uses Items with power, and her living dolls she controls. But big spells like getting rich or wathever.. she has them surely NOT xD.
Ill read a few spells and really words and those, to make it all better, you know. Inform myself, and i think ill get it.
