Hans Delbrück: German historian (1848-1929), born at Bergen (island of Rügen, died in Berlin. Veteran of the Franco-Prussian war, professor at the university of Berlin, member of the German Reichstag (1884-1890). Member of the German delegation at the Versailles peace treaty that ended WWI.

Chiefly wrote about the art of war, and was highly critical of the strategies employed by his country during the First World War. As a historian, he tried to place military history in the framework of general history.

Ah, I see....

Given his criticism of WWI strategy, I guess it's pretty apropriate that a Panzer be named after him...

At the other hand, given the fact he was part of the German delegation at Versailles, and thus, in Nazi views, he was one of the 'traitors' that 'sold' the German Reich to the Allies of World War One, it somehow seems to make little sense that he would have had a Panzer named after him.

I guess that's one of those little enigmas of history...

Maybe...but keep in mind, the Germans didn't have any say in how the Versailles Treaty was made, and weren't given much choice but to sign it.
