This is a very good idea, but I think your price estimations are still a bit on the low side.
Minimum wage is a good start point, but it's more like $7-8 for most people and you seem to be only charging $6 for two hours in your example. So your two hour sketch should be starting at more like $16, your doubled one at $24, and so on.
Also, the rate at which we can increase our hourly price when we're "totally epic" is much higher; someone with experience can easily ask for $15 an hour plus, right up to $50 once you're actually working in the feild. I know people working at that end of the spectrum already aren't your target, but I think it helps to point it out so young artists get some perspective and see what they CAN be earning if they push on.

XD the $6 in my example was actually a typo! it should have been $12, like I said in the guide, this is just about finding a place to start and keeping people out of the $2 a commission range :3

Then why not correct the typo? Cause currently you're telling people that they should work for $3 an hour. It's not really that much better than $2 commissions.

Yeah, $6/7 per hr ... and then you proceed telling them to work for $3? It's more confusing than obvious. I wasn't really sure if is was a typo, particularly because you are actually offering sketches for $10 - which is even less than the $12 in the example. O_o

honestly you're the first person to have a problem with reading around it XD but i do have plans to fix it in the future (when i make the commission guide not that horrid green anymore -____-) just havent had the time yet

This helps a lot. I've been trying to figure out my pricing for my artwork, and I feel in some areas that I've short-changed myself. But then again, I haven't had anyone ask for a commission on here yet (at least, for artwork). This is great information to know. I see so many tutorials for how to draw, but not how to make money off of it. Thanks!

I file them once a year XD just keep track of how much you've earned! I believe in the US there's a law that says if you make under so much money, you don't have to pay taxes on it though XD

This is awesome! I'm not a visual artist (I'm a writer XD), so I commission people all the time to draw my characters, but I always have to ask them a lot of questions ("What can I use it for?" "Do you want the payment up front?" "How big will the original be?"). I hope a lot of people see this and make the appropriate changes to their commission info 
Thanks for making this tutorial! Maybe if I somehow (by some miracle) learn to draw I could use this myself...
