like what? and I'd assume the answer is "no" depending on what you're asking. The point of the guide is to point out things like gravity, weight, etc that will help you draw hair more realistically. By no means does that mean you have to copy any particular style I have XD

Finally a hair tutorial that doesn't seem impossible to follow! Thanks for the simple, clear directions. It is rather scary to learn there's no big secret involved though. Just hours of practice, I guess. This should be helpful to me. Thanks for taking the time to make it.

Hi there! Um, I'm a beginning artist, and trying to get the hang of hair.
It's not going well.
Especially with the strands! When I put them in an uncolored sketch, it looks like the character has black highlights or something..
I guess my question is, where do the strands need to be placed, how much, and how thick? Please, my sketches look awful!

XD you're over-thinking it. Be sketchy - and then define what you already have, it'll all sort of fall into place XD alot of it just takes a bit of practice before you'll feel comfortable doing it. with the strands (the lil bits of hair that stick out from the rest) generally you want to draw them in by starting to follow the main curve of the hair - but then just "oops" it and suddenly make it curve a slightly different way. Don't overdo it though - be light with your strands, too many can just make it look like a tangle XD

This has been helpful not only with the hair but also with having my characters turn their heads a certain way. Do you have some other helpful tips? Lord know I can use all the help I can get.
