Description
Another commission, this one for ~Arcanthia of two of her characters she is writing a story about. The male on the left is Le’Norien Phydairre. The female on the right is Shrithra Mae’Lyl.Per ~Arcanthia ’s request I referenced a picture of Le’Norien that was done by *Mistresselysia to get the dragon scale armor right.

There was a lot of blue in this picture and it was hard to keep things from blending in too much, but I think I managed it well enough. I did cheat on the background though (because I still suck at drawing them myself). I read an encounter between these two that ~Arcanthia wrote and it took place on the surface, so I put them on the surface in the pic as well. I made the background by taking a photograph of some trees on our property and then I played around with it on my comp to come up with a simplified background.

Very cool looking characters, but aren't females supposed to be bigger than male drow?

Depends on the source really...but since this was a commission I just went by the description the customer gave me, in which case the male was much bigger than the female (and bigger than average Drow in general). And...I actually can't remember their alignment (this picture was done 4 years ago). I just remember that they were supposed to be in the forest on the surface...damn though, I can't recall if they were good or bad.

They are in this picture. I went by the information the customer gave me concerning these two Drow in particular, though I can't remember the heights now (this is an older pic) the female was a lot shorter than the male. Might not be typical for the race but...really nothing is typical anymore. Variations from the norm seem to be the only thing typical where people's character are concerned nowadays, heh.

Hate to be a bitch, but since this was a commission I did for ~Arcanthia it's her picture now and I'm not going to give anyone permission to post pics up of other people's characters (even if it is my art). It's bad for business really, and I don't want to piss off my clients. Hope ya understand.

hehee same here....backgrounds really bring the image to life but I suck at inanimate objects so degrade my poor lil pictures of extra credit..heh....course I don't think my art is THAT GREAT anyways to begin with but hey....

Ooh, new shinies! This is so good, Darrkest. I love the rendition of both of them, they look so deadly yet so calm. I can really picture these two standing in the woods greeting the first stranger who comes across them and the encounter isn't pretty. The details on their oufits are very well done, though I am more of a fan of their body structure and expressions. The background is very lovely as well, captures botht eh darkness and light of someplace like Cormanthor, Mir, or another wood. I like this one a lot.

And yeeeessssss, me lurvs contrasting Drow skintones. I'm still not getting them as dark as I would like though. For some reason it looks darker in my art program but once I get it in Windows or on the web it's much lighter...can't figure that one out yet.
