Description Timed speedpaint. About 15 minutes of frenetic paint-throwing per picture, no erasers (!!). Layout took far longer, because I'm obsessive when it comes to aligning things right down to the last pixel. Corel PhotoPaint (as usual).

Because it's Sunday, I'm bored, and I don't have the concentration to play Mafia.

My oh my, this is so very impressive, especially the way you do clouds is awesome. I'd be happy if I managed that as a slowpaint.

Ah, you see in the German version Jolee was saying that Sith make excellent tea instead of sandwiches (why they changed that is beyond me. Maybe sandwiches are not as popular in Germany as they deserve to be. Although tea isn't that tempting for most people either). I remember reading Jolee's original line somewhere on KFM but I didn't think of that when I first read your reply.

The trouble is just that now I'm not really hungry anymore, so enjoy your sandwiches with tea but don't expect me to go DS point collecting now.

15 minutes each?!? Fabulous!! Beautiful representations, all--I think Earth and Water are my favorties...it's hard to know, they're all wonderful! Man...I can't do anything artistic in 15 minutes (...it takes me that long to sharpen all my pencils... lol!)!

Thanks very much, FF. And haha, now you see why I prefer to work digitally, rather than with traditional media. (I hate sharpening pencils. I hate sharpening charcoal pencils even more).

Asking your forgiveness at the outset for getting all mushified over this...

I have to say that the "earth" image is one of the most touching things I've ever seen you create. Not even taking into account the fact that you SPEED PAINTED that lovely image (!!! ), you've sooooo captured the wonderful feeling of a golden sunset, long shadows, the comforting hand clasp between a grownup and a child... Just a knockout.

And the other images are also splendid.

I still say that this image would make one mighty righteous coffee cup.

Thanks very much, Linda. Um, I'm pretty sure I wasn't aiming to tug at heartstrings when I drew it (I was painting it the way I play TextTwist - frenetically, and without thinking), but I'm glad you see it as more than a painting exercise. ^_^

Coffee cup - LOL! that's the only thing with an aspect ratio of 2.something:1, so yeah... That's probably the only thing it could *ever* be made into.

Oh sure you can. Throw three buckets of paint (of different colours) into the engine of a Boeing, put a canvas in front of it (well, maybe do that *first*), and wait for the paint to splatter. Voila! abstract art you can sell on eBay for obscene amounts of dosh.

That was kind of how I did it. Admittedly it had more direction, but...

Re:15 mins - well, for the last speedpaint I did I limited myself to 30 minutes per picture, but that was with references (it always takes me longer when I need to refer to stuff because I tend to obsess over things). I wanted to push my limits a little this time around.

PER picture, Luby. That comes up to about an hour for all four. (If you don't count all the time I kept breaking to surf online). Not that impressive when you multiply that number! lol.
