Description
As promised, a painting tutorial using Ten Points from Gryffindor as an example. I hope this will be of some help, and that it's not simply a case of the blind leading the blind.Related content

I found this on a google search to get some info on underpainting - VERY well done! Β I really appreciated how you didn't just go from "Step 1.. 2... 3... etc) but included some extra info so it was more "Step1.a, 1.b, 1.c, 2a, 2b...". Β Thanks for writing it! Β I hope you don't mind but I'm linking (not copy/save, promise!) to this on my FB page with full credit to you for writing it. This is fantastic information!Β

This is a very useful tutorial - especially for someone who is just starting out with the digital painting thing.
Thankyou very much for writing it, and sharing it!

Hello! And thank you for making this. It must have taken a lot of time but I'm glad that you did because 1. It's Snape! and most important 2. It's a fantastic tutorial that, not only explains a little about everything (even the pencil drawing helped me) but it also gives new painters (or however we're supposed t be called in English ) something to start with: the materials, the sizes and everything. It's really helpful because there are so many things in the market that's horrible go looking for a tablet or a digital painting program with absolutely no idea. :-S
So, thank you!

Hey, thanks for taking the time to comment! I'm glad you like this, and that you found it useful; when I started out doing digital stuff, I didn't know anyone who had a tablet or PhotoPaint, so there was so much I had to figure out on my own. It would have been nice to have something like this back then, haha.

Corel PhotoPaint. It's like Photoshop, only the tool arrangement is a little different, and you can resize the brush with the keyboard.

Among all the tutorials I went through for digital paintings, someone like you actually displayed the different methods of blending in colours. I appreciate the efforts. At least I am not that confused now. XD Thank you~!

[sorry for the terribly late reply!]
I'm glad you found this tutorial useful. I was a little concerned it might be too wordy for anyone to plough through!
Good luck with your artistic endeavours.

This is amazing. I have viewed a lot of tutorials on skin paining, but yours is by far the most comprehensible and inspiring. However, I am uncertain of when I will have the option of spending a huge amount of time on a painting next time. Perhaps next summer.
You are simply great.

Thank you very much, Carolina! I *hope* this is useful... and not just downright misleading, haha. But you do really great skintones; I wish you had more time to paint.

It's a monstrosity *now*. Before I resized it, it was a three-foot long GARGANTUAN monstrosity.
Share and enjoy.

Even if you stick with nudes, you still have to draw/paint creases if you feel the need to draw someone older. Like Vrook.
Mwah-ha-ha! I bet now you're thinking of naked Vrook!

DarthFar In reply to ocelott [2008-02-09 07:02:51 +0000 UTC]
You'll be sorry the day I PAINT a naked Vrook! You'll never be able to read the comics, much less play the games again!

Pet what - Snape, or the tutorial? Watch your fingers; there's no telling what a disgruntled Potions master might do with them...
