Description
See that? I started to do, like, a little arabesque, but then I just fully went for it and pulled off the demi-entrechat. Not that I'm into that kind of thing...So why isn't she nude, why is there this gratuitous clothing? Well BECAUSE I wanted to show off the nice outfit I made for her, based on the actual outfit she wears. The best part about her is I get to exercise my inner goth. Like building this couch and candelabra. Such a nice place. It's almost like we're about to watch an old campy horror movie

Hey, a painting of a woman doesn't have to be nude to be sexy. Just ask the masters of theΒ "sexy fantasy art", Boris Vallejo are Julie Bell.
Β
Sure, most of their work is of the scantily clad or nude female form, but not all of it, and when they draw a clothed female, she still looks great.

Indeed.Β They are definitely the masters, along with Frank Frazetta.

Impressive work. And there's little trace left to indicate it's 3d origin, instead appearing completely painted. You must have an interesting workflow to achieve such a result, I'm sure...
Anyways, welcome to my watchlist.

Thank you
Yes it took me a long time to figure out how to make 3d look less 3d, but most of it is in the way the materials are set up for rendering. Then of course there is touch up post work

Exactly
And I have to agree, Morrigan has more appeal.

This is outstanding!
The use of light and shadows, the colors being so deep plus the classic pose and setting... perfect!
Very classic horror, love it!

I love her! She reminds me of a certain sultry goddess of Time from a story written a few years ago by Troy Stanton. Susan Meiou was only half succubus, but she could still mesmerize and intimidate at the same time -- and she had exactly the same lustrous green hair as Morrigan does. My favorite quote (paraphrased): "You need not fear me. I do... hunt... from time to time, but I never kill my friends." Uh, okay...
Your artwork is beautiful. I love the couch, candles, and tapestry too. I am intrigued enough by this picture to want to find out more about Morrigan and her story. She looks like one of the aristocrats from Selene's coven in "Underworld", lounging on that sofa like that.
More, please!

Thank you
I love that quote 'I never kill my friends', whew, don't get on her bad side.
Yes I did a bit of research before I started doing some images of her. From what I gather she does come from somewhat of an aristocratic family.

Thank you very much. I'm with you though, I didn't know much about the character until someone dropped her name to me and I looked her up. Of course looks alone made me want to re-create her. It's good to know that the subtleties in her expression come across, sometimes I wonder if people even notice those little details.

I've had similar experiences before on the opposite end. I've seen characters before that I thought looked cool and wanted to do images, and without knowing anything about them I've re-created them in scenes and had people tell me that that character would never do that, or shouldn't smile like that, or why did I put them in a scene like this. When I first started doing Darth Talon I knew nothing about her, a friend of mine just showed me a picture and asked if I thought I could render her. Of course now I know more about her character just out of my own curiosity. Plus now I research any character I render that way I don't accidentally do something that will bring down the wrath of fans. They can be such a touchy bunch.
Personally, I like to know what other people get out of my images, even if it's different than what I was thinking. I've had people see things in my work that they thought were brilliant subtle messages, and they were in fact just something they saw and I never intended. It makes me wonder about the validity of all those studies of old paintings and things they say the artists cleverly did, such as "If you notice here the clever use of......."
