Aww... He's just hanging out for a hug there. Great job here. His lonely expression! (And his unyieldingly curly hair...) This song was one of the major moments in the musical that really carried across the tragedy that was in the book. I loved this song and I cried after reading every death scene!

I only curse my high school's blatant LACK of school-musical-putting-on...

Oh, I agree. The book made me cry so much...

I saw a high school production last week, and it was very good. Mainly because Valjean's voice was a tear-jerker. Everyone else was... good. not great.

I'm usually a very hard twig to snap when it comes to crying. I keep recommending it to all my friends who ask for a book recommendation... (ie. shouting hyseterically "Read it! It's BRILLIANT!! Really! Yes, I know most of the books I read are weird to you, but I'm serious about this one!") Definitely my favourite book now.

Really? Lucky... Our school just...doesn't do musicals. Why?? It's so dang annoying...

truly, it's the most moving book I know (besides the Bible. Can never leave that one behind! ) And good for you. I wish I could recommend it to more people... a lot of the people I know wouldn't comprehend it's majesty, if you know what I mean. Anyhow...

Aw, that stinks. I'm homeschooled, so I feel your pain. Fortunately, I have enough power to try and organize my own next year. I'm strongly considering Les Mis (since there is no dancing or kissing one has to deal with... it should be a breeze to direct!)

I love this picture! Although Valjean is my favorite character Marius comes in a close second, then comes Javert. I love the way you did the shadows on the wall!

I've recently been listening to my Les Miz soundtrack a lot again, and this is one of my favorite songs. It's so emotional . . . it made me cry the first time I heard it. Your drawing expresses this very well. The shadows on the walls add to the mood even more.

I remember when my school did this scene....I loved the shadows they had. I think I was tearing up...
