My SECOND shot at coloring with photoshop. (Actually, on this one, I drew Erik with my pad... no scans!)Man, this took an eternity. Probably not more than 6 hours (yes, I'm still very slow w/ photoshop...) but also because some of the textures and items were very complex. Tell me if the mirror looks right-- my Dad kept having to help me get the lighting just right.
Anyway... I've always wanted to draw something like this, and finally it all came together. I hope you like the Leroux-ness of it all, and I hope I didn't forget anything. Perhaps a music stand would've been nice... then again, Erik probably knows scores of music by memory... he doesn't NEED one to practice with.
My favorite part about this peice would have to be Erik's violin, though. I've never drawn him with a violin, and he's so amazingly adorable!!
ah... to hear him play "Dies Irae" on that thing...

Very nice. I love the ecstacy Christine shows while Erik is giving her voice lessons. And of course the look of joy on Erik's face as Christine sings for him.

I love your art! I've been browsing over it, but I still have to take a closer look at everything, but it all looks wonderful!
I love this one, I especially like Christine's dressing room and her dress, so pretty! And it contrasts so nicely to Erik and the backside of the mirror.

How so? I googled countless pictures as references for his hand positions, so I hardly think I drew them wrong. Unless the chibiness of his arms and hands messes it up and doesn't look realistic...

I realized immediately after I posted that it was just the chibiness that made it look strange and I posted a reply to my post, but it occurs to me now that you probably don't get alerts about replies to posts that aren't yours.

Yes it would, I had a quick flick through my POTO novel and it seems it does on Christines side of the mirror so why not on Eriks

I suppose it would reflect somewhat... like a normal pane of glass... but not necessarily. You see, from her side it reflects perfectly, like any mirror would. But on Erik's side, it's like a regular window, tinted gray only slightly, I think.

I like the little touchs the most! The little bows in Christine's room, the cobwebs, Christine's bedframe. And the machine to open hte door just fasinates me. And I agree with Erik's violin playing. You could fall asleep to it in seconds.
