I drew the sketch for this while in Europe, not long after seeing Ramin Karimloo and Gina Beck perform "Phantom" in London. I guess you could say I was inspired!"Past the point of no return
No backward glances
Our games of make-believe are at an end...
Past all thought of "if" or "when"
No use resisting
Abandon thought and let the dream descend..."
This is one of my absolute favorite songs from the show (next to "Music of the Night" and "Final Lair"... goodness, it's so hard to choose, but I finally decided that those are my favorites.)
Anyway. If you do comment, why not tell me what your favorite song is from the show? Is it the sumptuously romantic "All I Ask of You" or the beautifully inspiring "Think of Me"? Or is it one of the lesser-known tracks like "Wandering Child"? Give me your thoughts! I always like to hear them.

It was a few years back, I was lucky enough to travel there. (I live in the US too!)

beautiful picture! I'd have to say my favorite songs are in fact Music of the Night and the Final Lair, but I've always, for some strange reason, liked Stranger than you Dreamt It. I do like that scene a lot, perhaps because of how sensitive Christine is when she gives him back his mask, it just makes me smile

My favorite is one of the lesser known ones, the medley "Why have you brought me here/Raoul I've seen him". It's just so real, the fear, the confusion, the sadness ans strain of emotions. My favorite line from any songs of all time is in there: "...And I hurt as I'd never hurt before.."

I love PONR but just from the logic it bothers me that Christine has to take his cape away to recognize the Phantom. I mean, he should have an angelic voice, she heard his voice for several months...she should recognize it!! That's something they done well in the movie, you can see in Christines face, when Erik starts to sing, she knows it's HIM.

I agree, it doesn't make sense to ME in the stage version, why it is. But in the movie it's also releasing too much sexuality coming from Christine KNOWING it's the phantom... I like it better when it takes her a while to figure it out.
My best theory for the stage version, is that she hears his voice but maybe thinks that she's going crazy, and she's imagining things... OR she does get the hint that it's him in the stage version, it's just left up to our interpretation. I like stage phantoms that take on a spanish/italian accent for PONR, then you're allowed the disbelief.

Your interpretations sound good, and thought of the same reasons, it's just...>.<..why doesn't she recognize his voice (when he don't speak with an accent or something like this).
As you said, Christines acting in PONR is too much but... maybe you also like it...two little scenes, first when Gerik graps with his hand around her troath and goes down her arm until the bracelet opens and when Emmys voice goes deeper at "when will the flames at last consume us..." Especially the first scene is so...*sigh* I want somebody who sings the song with me! XD The 2004 movie had also good sides. ^w^*snickers* (And your interpretation of the song is so beautiful
