The friendship borne of false pretense.

After a month of relying on one another, laughing with one another, and defending one another, she stands before him as her true self: his assassin.

His mind races. Though it was only through chance that he discovered her intentions, he knew for some time that this moment would arrive. However, he has grown quite fond of this person he's come to know, and his mind quickly tries to find answers to many questions.

She, the focused blade, swift and lethal, tempered in fire and ice. Though she had gone to great lengths to conceal her true nature, she knew that he could read her just as easily as she reads him. Through her lies, he knows her- her insecurities, likes, pet peeves, and habits. Through his honest nature, she knows him just the same.

And so continues the battle in the moonlit snow.
