Just the way (uh-huh, uh-huh) I like them. Crashing to the ground spectacularly from above!Lightning Ridge, NSW, Australia.

Lightning must have been powerfull, I hope nobody was hit by it, because it would cause instant death.

What an appropriate place-name for a lightning shot I'm amazed so many of these are NSW locations too, since I hardly see many good storms here anymore

I think this is my absolute favorite out of the whole series - did you had to take a lot of shots to catch the lightning?

I took about 500 photos that night, out of which maybe 30 were interesting.
I always end up taking a ridiculous amount of pictures if there's a storm during the day, simply because it's impossible to get a slow enough shutter speed in daylight, so I usually just set the camera to shoot continuously and hold the button down. This leads to many many many virtually identical photos to sort through later.

np. i'm getting my remote shutter device thing this friday, now i have to wait for a lightning storm *sigh* wish i could fast forward to one sometime this spring.

Remote shutters are awesomely useful. I'd be lost without mine -- in fact I am lost without it, because I always forget to take it with me.
