Lightning behind the house behind the Lightning Ridge Racecourse (which is behind Lightning Ridge, which is behind me while I'm taking the photo).I'm confused, too.

You have confused me too
I visited Lightening Ridge in 1998 when I was participating in the Outback Car Trek raising money for the Flying Doctors. I remember the hot water spring and the old tram/train carriages being used for accommodation. I think that we actually camped on the racecourse for the night.

Aw, the old tram carriages are gone, now. New owners of the motel (now a "tourist park") tore the trams out to make way for comfortable, modern cabins. (Admittedly, the cabins are extremely nice.) The only tram that remains is the original Bondi tram at the front, serving as a showroom and reception office.
Such are the times.
