HA! Like there was any doubt.
I look up and give the BIG GUY a thumbs up with my free hand.
But now comes the really hard part of this hair-brained stunt of mine.
The landing.

Back again
Time for a few brief comments and remarks
Like said now it gets interesting.
Allison has caught up to, and got a hold of her quarry
I note that she is facing Commander (?)Hill who seeem to be regarding her would be savior with wide eyed surprise
And is probably yelling at Ali from behind that tape gag , ordering the heroine to get a move on and hurry up and get her out of this mess. And the spy bureaucrat is probably also sarcastically asking the valiant heroine what "What took you soon long"
Allison's look of hard concentration tells us that she realizes that they are not out of the woods yet.
Like the story says she still has to get them safely down to the ground ( and that hard cold unforgiving earth is coming up on them awfully fast) I assume that she going go into "jet pak mode" ( like she did briefly in the wonderful "Kraven's Hunt" mega story arc ) and gradually slow their descent ( no sudden stops - the shock might seriously injure the captives ) , increasing her power output until they reach the ground at a dead stop ( no pun intended )
I note that Daz has wrapped her legs around the plummeting prisoners , thus she is effectively part of the falling load and so if her rescue attempt is unsuccessful Allison may well die with Roberta and Maria . This reader really has to admire that act .That she would do this with out a second thought really illustrates how courageous and commited she is . I really like that you have presented your heroine in this way
I note that Roberta has her eyes closed as if she is making her final peace and perhaps is also adding her voice to Dazzler's prayer's ( Please Lord See your way clear to giving this child the strength/ help /assistance she might need to do the job you know she can do .
( Note -Roberta's possible prayer is only the first draft I will probably fine tune it later .
I would also speculate that Roberta might ruefully observe that while she is not afraid to die ,she would just as soon not " pass on " while tape gagged and tied up back to back and butt to butt with this officious martinet/ office chair commando Maria Hill
I really like Ali's inner dialogue in this installment
The desperately sincere and plausible prayer as she names all those who are counting on her sounds just right as does that big exclamation of triumph when she succeeds .I really like that she takes the time to give a big thumbs up of Thanks to the All Mighty before she settles in for the next and even harder part of the operation. That was a wonderful touch and an excellent look into the character of the character.
This is another great installment
Plus it came long earlier than I expected
Thank for this one and the entire series .
I am really looking forward to next installment
Well done.

I thought BOTH women had their eyes closed. I know I asked Dan to show them with closed eyes because Ali's glow is so bright she's blinding. Right now neither is aware that it is the Dazzler attempting to save them. And if Hill could speak you KNOW she'd be barking orders.
Dazz has wrapped her legs around the two victims to anchor herself to them and be stable enough to laser them free without accidently slicing off a body part. And to keep them together after they are cut loose. For reasons that will seem pretty obvious in the next installment Ali needs the women untied.
And, by Ali's own admission, this IS a crazy stunt she's pulling. So saying a little prayer is not so out of character I think.

I see
I really did think that Maria had her eyes open . I went back to the picture and looked again . It could be that her eyes are closed It is a bit indistinct/unclear .
Also I think I was so "personally invested " in my interpretation of the action that I was seeing what I wanted to see.
Sorry about that
I also note that Ali's rescue tactic will not be the one I was anticipating. I am really happy about that .
As an aside - Too often with the current news stand comics I find that I am able to accurately guess what is going to happen next by simply glancing at the last page .Or more often, these days I find I simply do not care what is going to happen next given that the writing is so bad and the stories are so unengaging and the characters ( as they are presented in these "official" stories ) are alien and strangers to me.
Continuing the aside - Happily (for me) your stories are the exact opposite of that .I really like your characters and I am very interested in their adventures and I find I can not guess what will happen next and your stories feature twists and turn that constantly surprise me .
At the risk of sounding repetitive I really like that.
Getting back on track - very much looking forward to learning how how Daz actually intends to rescue The General and the Commander
As to Ali's admission that what she is about to attempt is a "crazy stunt "
I will observe that desperate times call for desperate measures and also state that I do like a character who is smart and sharp enough to "think out side the box" And who is bold enough try it and skillful enough to( hopefully) carry it off .
Also I thought Ali's prayer was a nice touch and a very good bit of story telling.
I must also note that since Roberta does not know who is attempting to rescue Maria and herself ,my projected thoughts for the character were all wrong .
Sorry about that
In closing . Thank you are for a great installment in a great story . Really looking forward to what is coming up next.

well they say art is subject to interpretation. the thing is this art was confined within the framework of a set story. had there been no story for the picture, just a dramatic scene, then your POV could be just as good as any other. sometimes I write the story to fit the picture. case in point---Dan had Dazz facing Hill instead of Roberta. It really didn't change the concept of what I had planned out. I just had to rewrite Gen. Strock's POV a little and still managed to save what I thought was a pretty fun line that I didn't want to lose. Which I hope you enjoy when you finally get to read it.
As for Ali's rescue effort. I am afraid it is pretty predictable. What happens afterwards will hopefully come as a surprise though.

Again I have to head off to work very soon but I did want to make a couple of immediate comments
As to Ali's actual rescue procedure being" pretty predictable "- I have not been able to anticipate her next move( or the reason for it ) all through the story so I think you are doing a good job
I will probably berate myself for" not seeing it" when I do see what she finally does to complete the save That makes you a good story teller ( or me, a very dull fellow - lol)
Also I thought you have done an excellent job of creating a great and dramatic ongoing story within a very small" canvas" Even though the last three panels could be( wrongly) seen as essentially the same scene , the tension continually builds as I try to figure out what Ali will do next ( and consistently get it wrong - which I like ) while keeping in mind that she up against a really unforgiving schedule . Thanks to the art and story ( the internal dialogue you write is great) we get to see how the character thinks and acts in a very tight, high stress, no room for error , you get only one chance, situation . This is a great opportunity to show the kind of person she is , and your work is doing a great job of doing just that
And I am very much ( aka going mad with anticipation) to read your "Roberta's POV" story
Have to go now - My own unforgiving schedule is demanding I move along .
I will pick this up when I get back
Thank you again for a great story .

Two more comments
As to what happens next.
You do a great job with "out of left field " surprise finale/ last chapter so I am confident we are all in for a real treat As an aside I have mentally created ( and discarded ) at least three possibilities . While I know that I am all wrong in all three , I am also confident that your actual story will be much better than any thing I can conjure up.
Again regarding the Roberta POV story I must confess I am very greedy and obcessive where my fave heroine is concerned and hope that is story will cover not only the action of this sequence , but also her take on/ recollections of the events that lead up to it and some background/ history on her relationship /knowledge of / interaction with Maria Hill and the MAF
Thank you again for great series.

I am glad you like what you see so far. I am being deliberately vague about certain details...why they were kidnapped...who the bad guys are...what threat they pose...what's the deal with the General and Hill and so forth All of that would be hammered out when you are ready to take over.

Ahhh.
I must say I am truly humbled by and and appreciate the wonderful "potential rich" canvas /" bursting with possibilities" story line you are creating .
I hope that when that time you mention comes to pass we can consult and I can look to for for advice and suggestion as the further story unfolds
