Description
This is a skin tight silicone suit that was in 2 pieces, legs and upper torso. The hole in his chest was hooked up to a pressure pot that sprayed gooey black acid ( not real acid).This was done at Patrick Tatoupolas Studio and several people were involved in the creation of this character.

I thought those "armless" looked pure CGI, rather than suit with some CGI-enhancement applied after.

Our dream is to become makeup artists and we have tried to recreate some of the Silent Hill creatures portrayed in the Silent Hill movie. To happen upon your deviantart is so awesome. :] I just have to say keep up the amazing work and I hope we become as talented as you and your crew one day.

I love the mood of whole movie even if lots of critics and game fans was dissapointed. Design is very strong part which I really love. I remember very good this creature which attacked L.Holden with black acid. Have you created this suit from the begining ( design and final thing) or just its final version. I remeber that creatures was designed by Patrick Tatopoulos. Respect.

Patrick designed it and myself and the crew created it. The only thing that was sculpted and molded on it was the acidic orrifice. The rest of it was fabricated from carved and sanded foam pieces and then a sheer spandex suit coated with silicone slid on over it. That was painted with many layers of veining.

It pulled down and wrapped under the Crotch (Ouch!!) like a dancer's leotard and then snapped together.

This is incredible! quite the piece here! I drew a few Doubleheads myself for my art course, but this is fantastic! How did you manage to make it look so realistic? Did you just paint it? or was there some sort of effect you did to the silicone?

This one was tricky. The only part that was sculpted was the chest orrifice then we molded it and cast it out of silicone. I glue it to the upper torso spandex-silicone section and took more silicone and created the raised veins spreading out from it. It was like icing a cake. Then many layers of painting to get the translucent depth and organic quality to it. The Spandex-Silicone was stretched over a foam fabricated upper torso section that went on the performer first. The undersuit had a long tube going from his mouth running out to the back so he could breath and also a hose in the chest running out to a pressure pot to shoot black acid. Fun stuff.

Wish I had found you on here before we worked on Silent Hill Homecoming game!! I designed a character very similar for the game--Smog. I loved these creatures in the movie. Great job.

Hey!!! I'm loving that game and great job on the creature stuff. I've only gotten to the cemetary and haven't played it in a while, but plan on getting back to it soon. Thanks so much for the compliment. All of us that worked on it are big fans of the game and really wanted them to be very disturbing looking. This guy was the one I wanted to head up the most. I'll never forget the first time I saw him in Silent Hill 2 and wanted him to be creepy as hell. The suit performer really brought him to life.

the only monster that was actully close in the movie ( even though it was all 2 monsters and not one o.O) was indeed the lying man. even though the message of James' suffering doesnt show in the film (cause its not james ) the monster still played its part. and looked amazaing. <3

My goodness! That is some impressive collaboration. Is there strict demarcation in applied skills, or is there a fair amount of overlap in people's tasks? It would be fascinating to see how many different aspects of work go in to one piece (especially with all the detail, and the scale, of this piece).
