Bio

Montague is good-hearted and easy going student at Sodor Community College. After he was born, he experienced an unnatural growth spurt in his legs; causing his left one to grow slightly longer than his right, and this has stuck with him throughout his life. Due to his unbalanced lower body, whenever Montague walks, he is described by others as "waddling", which eventually earned him the nickname "Duck". Though intended as an insult, he embraced his condition and adopted "Duck" as the name he wants people to refer to him by.

Duck is cheerful and kind, but is also very proud of his noble Great Western heritage, often claiming that "there are two ways of doing things: the Great Western Way, or the wrong way", much to the annoyance of other people. Duck knows how to hold his own and tends to stand for no nonsense from anyone, however his moral code is not perfect and often favours fairness to kindness; usually leading him to dish out some "tough love" on those he believes either need or deserve to hear it, regardless of their current state; a more "be cruel to be kind" approach, something he never does out of spite. He likes things to run like clockwork, without problems or interruptions, which makes him very efficient and loyal.

Due to his laid back attitude, Duck tends to keep to himself most of the time, though he does have strong friendships with a good number of students at SCC, including Edward, Percy, BoCo, Donald and Douglas. He did tend to clash a bit with Thomas during their younger days; with their differing ideologies causing both friction between them and delays around the school. They have since buried the hatchet and now have a mutual respect for each other. However he does have a heated dislike for Diesel Horwich; while others were welcoming of him on his first day, Duck could already sense that he was nothing but trouble and after putting him in his place for his cockiness, Diesel spread some nasty rumours about Duck as revenge, which got so worse that Duck was almost expelled, though Diesel's cockiness caused him to slip up and reveal Duck's innocence. Years later and the two still give each other the stink eye whenever they cross paths.

Duck has never had any interest in a relationship his whole life, but when he took part in the school's 'Mixmakers Day' event, he was paired with Flora Holden as a date, which eventually lead to him becoming attracted to her for real; finding her southern charm irresistible and her hard working attitude admirable. This quickly lead to both of them making it official between them, something they make sure the entire school knows about on a daily basis, much to the discomfort of the other students.

Proud yet kind, but also strong yet easy going, Duck is highly respected by the people of Sodor and always makes sure that he puts 100% effort into anything.
