If you want to run them from batteries you need to get the 6v inverter (4 AAA) - the 12v one needs external power. I ran all 6 guitar strings from one inverter.

It's quite interesting stuff - you should be able to tie knots in it without affecting the glow. I tied it onto the bridge of the guitar and didn't damage it.

Thanks. No, fibre optic filaments don't leak light, so they wouldn't glow. This is electroluminescent wire - a bit like a very thin, flexible fluorescent tube.
