The science officer looks like Emily Deschanel, which would seem wholly appropriate given her character in "Bones."

Yupp, she is Emily Deschanel. I'd really like her to play Maura Lappin.

Jó manipuláció, bár a férfinél kicsit észrevehetőbb (fejmegvilágítás miatt főleg). De egyébként egész jó

I had to double take this I originally saw Wil Riker and Deanna Troi in the small thumbnail (I guess watching "First Contact" again, doen't help!) but, after looking at the bigger picture I thought 'Masterpiece'!

Damn good job there Dave.

(PS I really wish now someone would do a TV series - wake up Paramount!)

yeah i think that was Lt. Hawk sitting at the Nav/Helm console behind your characters that kinda gave away which movie it came from.

The helm console -- or on the 1701-E, the "death seat".
Look at the poor sucker who sat there in Nemesis...

Hell -- Ro Laren's career was killed dead. How many "Mr. Nameless" types sat in that chair on Ent-D?

I expected to see a vulture perched on the seat by the time Nemesis came around.

The total is probably higher than that of red shirts in the original series and that's damn impressive considering at least one red shirt died per episode in TOS

After the 147th charred corpse at the helm, I wonder why Captain Baldy never simply had Data do all the piloting? Data seemed to handle a great many other bridge jobs (scanning planets, searching the library computer system, being a synthetic pain in the backside, etc., etc.).

TNG got to the stage where it was essentially “The Picard & Data Show! (Oh, and some of their wacky pals from the Enterprise-D show up as well – one or two of them even get to do something now and then)”

wingzero-01-custom In reply to Nuclear-Fridge [2010-06-02 18:41:17 +0000 UTC]

Well at least Troi became more than a pair of tits having orgasms every episode when she felt a pained alien conscience somewhere over the horizon. Riker was just the XO who was always getting knocked out or locked away where he wasn't any help at all, and Crusher was useless except to state the obvious, and the other Crusher was an annoying gay techno geek. so yeah I think i would have focused on Picard and Data to if I had that cast to deal with either that or just make the whole thing into a giant orgy pornography. This is why I liked Voyager so much they went back to basics and actually succeeded in building a successful series from it. Especially with new aliens and no support from the fleet to get home on!

"Endgame", though, was almost THE crappiest series finale in Trek. That dubious honour goes to Enterprise...

Future Janeway decides to dick around with the timeline because she has a huge guilt attack over her decisions in the Delta Quadrant. She has a bitching contest with herself -- both Janeways certain they know what's best -- and together they kill off the Borg Queen. Then Voyager gets home.

Except it actually doesn't. Final shot: Voyager is heading towards Earth. I sat back and said, "What? Is that it?!"

wingzero-01-custom In reply to Nuclear-Fridge [2010-06-04 10:02:56 +0000 UTC]

It was good concept badly executed. plus i would have liked to see more of her home coming than just seeing her escorted by the by the fleet to earth as the final shot of the series hell they could have done a whole other season with just that, and the decisions as to what to do with Voyager herself.

Nuclear-Fridge In reply to wingzero-01-custom [2010-06-04 19:56:58 +0000 UTC]

Agreed. Let's be blunt -- Chakotay, B'Elanna, and any other Maquis that managed to survive Janeway's inimitable command are all still wanted on terrorism charges. What about that? The Equinox survivors would be hauled over the coals for Ransom's actions, once the debriefings are done. And for all the accolades and receptions, Kathryn Janeway would still have to face those who would never forgive her for stranding Voyager in the Delta Quadrant: the families of those who died out there.

I hope I'm not being TOO negative -- it's just that this is the "unpalatable stuff" that Trek doesn't address. Ever. We call it real-life consequences... Notice how Ben Sisko is the only person who really faced Picard over Wolf 359 (his wife died there, for crying out loud!)?

Your right and your wrong, there is such a thing as extenuating circumstances. All the fore mentioned crew members named served honorably and was very much invaluable to Voyagers safe return. Plus couldn't being stuck on a Starship 80,000 light years from home be counted as time served? especially since Janeway wasn't exactly the easiest skipper in the fleet to get along with in a working relationship, she expected the best and she got the best. Plus it is also possible that since Janeway got promoted to Admiral about as soon as they pulled into port she probably protected and defended her crew with the same poise and audacity in which she commanded her ship. Though I understand what your saying about the whole real life consequences issues that are never addressed on screen or on the page of a book, as easily as you can point out the problems with it people can also easily explain it away. Plus if you were Janeway who would you rather take command of your ship your old XO or some new guy who doesn't know either the ship or crew well enough to effectively lead them successfully Chakotay was the only man they could have given the job to given that crews particular circumstances. Did I mention they made Tom Paris the XO that was one thing I didn't see coming!

Thank you!

The story:

Ashdown was the Captain of a small ship during the 2380 Borg Supercube Crisis. His XO was his brother and Lappin was his Science Officer. The three were some sort of golden trio like Kirk, Spock and McCoy. Ashdown and Lappin had an on-off relationship, too. During the Supercube crisis, the ship was lost with most of her crew, including Ashdown's brother, were lost. Lappin blamed Ashdown for the disaster and refused to speak to him for at least a decade.
