Picard: What is that aberration?
Data: Sensor scans indicate it is the time-shifted hulk of the first USS Defiant, original registry number NCC-1764. According to records, this ship was lost in 2268 due to an unknown phasing phenomenon and is still phasing in and out existence.
Riker: If I remember my history right, that phasing incident happened near Tholian space too.
Picard: Conn, how close are we to Tholian space?
