I always disliked that the First Officer role of TNG and VOY was a glorified "Captain Clone" -- a comfy chair, no station. So I have to say THANK YOU for whippin' that lazy XO to a console!

nicec, two ppl manning security and tactical? Very serious.
If I may make a suggestion, splitting the consoles so that they don't run on the same power conduit, so in case the panel blows the other one is intact?

I think that the security console is manned by the First Officer. I never liked the TNG concept of having a Number One who is not stationed but is only an expanded "body part" of the captain. Sweet leisure life is over, Number one, go to your station
