This is a really cool picture. I've always liked the TMP "disco tunnel" warp drive effect. It's too bad they didn't stick with it. I agree with Keiichi-K1 it seems like the special effects people got lazy after ST:II or it may be Paramount got too cheap.

Lovely, I've always been a fan of the streaked motion blurred look of warp, it seems so sedate where on TV it becomes 'bang' and then a white flash in the background.

Although there is that one Voyager episode where you get to see what it looks like being at warp (through the viewscreen).

My most emorable Warp moment was in The Year of Hell, when the Voyager Warps away with the temporal beam locked on them, ripping pieces of the hull in the process. That was some fine CGI!!

Thank you!

The Warp tunnel thing was done in artcleIllusion, the other effects in Photoshop.

Ez inkább tűnik hiperűr-ugrásnak mint warp-olásnak vagy hogy mondják ezt mádzsárul.

Too bad the effects in the 70's weren't that good. It looks so real compared to ole ST1.

though the light prism effect looks much better here, I happen to really love the light-trail effect used on ST1 and ST2 (well, the one re-used shot from ST1, minus the prism). Its like the visual effects people got lazier with the warp effect, until they just stuck with the "stretch" effect.
