Hi. I am a teacher in Australia and I have a group of 5 students who would like to use the image above for their first short stop motion film. The films will be uploaded to our school website and entered in a local film competition. When they searched the image they searched under Creative Commons, however, were unsure of the licence for the picture. Would you be happy for them to use the picture? Thanks in advance. Jo

Hey, feel free to use it. It has the Creative Commons license that stops people from selling it but it’s ok for personal use and non profit related projects.
Enjoy!
...I also make YouTube vids of these now, if any of your students are interested in digital art please subscribe!!

I can't remember, it was an early study with some new software at the time, it was quite long tho as I was playing around with brush techniques.
Many thanks!

That depends on what exactly you want to use it for...?
Please send me a note if you want to discuss it further.
Thanks.

Splendid lighting! The play of light and shadow on the ground is absolutely gorgeous. Very nice work on the grass and tree trunks. As someone else also said, the perspective and the sense of depth it conveys are incredible.
On the other hand, the leaves strike me as a bit too obviously "brush"-y and inorganic: I can't help seeing them as two-dimensional patches of foliage pattern pasted on curved planes suspended in space. In my opinion, you would be far better off painting the individual leaves in by hand. It would be less efficient, of course, but I think it would allow you to give them a more convincingly natural distribution.

Thanks very much!
I have to agree most of the leaves were done very quickly with a brush I had just created at the end of the exercise. I learnt lots from this experiment though, so I'm happy to leave it as a reminder of my progression even if it does look a little bit flat. Autumn forest 1 - 3 have this same technique but with a heavy layer of detailing on top, it does work to save time, but as you said it needs that little bit more to finish it off.

Such beauty...so calm and relaxing. Green is my favorite color, and this is my favorite setting to find it in.
