Now we're getting to the worst of the worst as Halloween approaches! MyDoom, aka Novarg, is one of the most destructive viruses in computer history. In 2004, it was unleashed onto the internet. It spread by email and file sharing, it was so chaotic that even Google got worried and a $250,000 bounty was offered for whoever can find the one(s) responsible. Search engines became insanely overwhelmed with millions of search requests from infected computers. The objective was to create a botnet to cause DDoS attacks to any targets that were the most vulnerable. This resulted in $38 billion in damages, adjusted for inflation would be $52.2 billion today.

This virus has made it on many lists on #1 as the most destructive computer virus ever made, but oh boy...there's one more that's even worse.
