Nimda is Admin spelled backwards, a clever way to name a virus I have to admit. It holds the record as the fastest spreading virus in computer history and targeted internet servers and websites. Released onto the internet a week after the 9/11 terror attacks, some thought it was a cyberattack by al-Qaeda, but there was no proof to back it up. The strange thing was that you didn't need to open an infected email to get hit, although that was an option, other ways was going to an infected website, and by coming across an infected file. Also like the Morris Worm, this'll reinfect your computer over and over again. The result of the attack was the internet becoming very slow, but as far as we know, no files were stolen or spyware was added. All that's known about its origin is that it came from China, but the creator of the worm remains unknown.
