Description
"It was very dreary being a dragon. He shuddered whenever he caught sight of his own reflection ... He hated the huge, bat like wings, the saw-edged ridge on his back, and the cruel, curved claws. He was almost afraid to be alone with himself and yet he was ashamed to be with the others."-Voyage of the Dawn Treader

This is one of the best scenes in The Chronicles of Narnia. It always stood out throughout the years for me since it shows the greatest change in any of the characters - in more ways then one. I'm so happy i did this painting, this image has been in my head for so long - I'm so glad its on paper now

I love the Chronicles of Narnia! This is very well done in keeping with the classic story feeling.
(Do you think you could do a scene from The Horse and his Boy some time? )

thank you! I love Narnia too...oh yes, i would love to do a scene from the horse and his boy. But there is so much imagery in that i'm going to have to re-read it again to find the best parts
When i do another painting from Narnia it probably will be from THAHB or The silver chair

Awesome. (I love the quote you have in your signature, by the way.) I'd love to see your interpretation of Aravis's city, even though I'm sure you could make any part of Narnia look fantastic. Are you planning to see the movie that's coming out?

hehe...The last Battle (is if not best close to my favorite book) In the horse and his boy I always thought a cool scene was the one in the tombs where Shasta meets regroups with everyone after they get all seperated. I'm pretty fond of night scenes and would love to do another

Ah, yes, for many years. I recently bought a one-volume collection of the Narnia series and read them all again straight through. Lewis speaks to all ages.

OhmygoshNarnia! You're my hero! I love your style... it's a gorgeous illustration- it looks like it popped right out of a Narnia picture book (ooh...), and watercolours just seem to fit this scene. There needs to be more Narnia art out there, hey? I am inspired ^_^
