Sweden may have been neutral during World War II but they did build their own armor. The Stridsvagn m/40 L medium tank began service in 1940 and was equipped with a 37mm gun.TankFest 2014

You mean neutral in that context that they sold weapons to everybody who could pay.
Machinpistols to the nazis and also to the resistenspeople all over europe.
And the swedish queens father - yes the queen sweden have today - father was
a member of the nazi party. Of course everybody in seweden thinks it is okay.
But - yes it looks like an inprovement of the early nazi tanks.

I believe the Strv m/40 is considered a light tank. At least according to Wikipedia.

According to the Tank Museum's bit on it, the Swedish helped the Germans with research when they weren't legally allowed to build their own tanks.

Sweden's earliest tanks were also purchased from Germany as "tractor parts".
