Kinda freaky, but I don't get it. What's with the To Kill A Mockingbird reference?

I don't fully get the "To Kill a Mocking Bird" refrence but it reminds me of "The Excorist", the only movie that has actually scared the fuck out of me to the point I couldn't finish it.
It also made me giggle. Don't know what that says about me, but I loved this! VERY deserving of the DD
