Description I've always liked those "charge!" covers (e.g. WildC.A.T.s #28, X-Force #8 etc.), even though X-factor isn't really an action team per se, they do get into a bit of action, plus I had a to go a little different from the "standing around looking cool", and the "close-up facial expressions" of the other two covers.

Pencils, inks and water soluble graphite all by me.

Colour version is here: [link]

THE STORY:
"THE INVISIBLE GIRL HAS VANISHED" X-Factor has relocated back to New York, and their first client is a keeper: Franklin Richards, whose mom has disappeared and who figures that the premiere detective agency in the Marvel Universe has the best chance of finding her. Except Reed Richards doesn't seem especially cooperative in helping them locate his missing wife. What is he hiding, and does it have anything to do with the coming Darkness? Hey david awesome work..how long did it take you to begin to utilize the water soluble pencils comfortably?

davidyardin In reply to Dustinj87 [2011-06-04 21:27:49 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I started doing water colour pencils way back when I was doing Realm of the claw. It didn't really take too long at all before I was comfortable with them (a couple of pages maybe).

Another great Cover, David! By the way, those pages you did to What If Astonishing X-Men made me think twice to continue the book... youΒ΄re really good doing women... They are so sexy and elegant.

The water soluble graphite sounds extremely challenging (no room for erro?). Pulled this shot off beautifully tho.

Thanks. It's actually a lot easier than ink wash, because you can erase it while it's still dry.
