Description This is the cover for X-Factor #42, which I pencilled and inked.

You may have read Peter David's non-interview, about X-Factor, on Newsarama a couple of weeks back [link] . Basically he didn't talk about a lot of cool stuff coming up in X-Factor, starting with issue #39 (the issue before I start my cover run).

All I'll say is, if you are an X-Factor reader, or even if you've recently dropped the title you'll want to pick these coming issues up, starting with X-Factor #39 out this week. Don't say I didn't warn you.

X-FACTOR #42
Written by PETER DAVID
Penciled by VALENTINE DE LANDRO
Cover by DAVID YARDIN

After the shocking events of the past few issues, MADROX has learned that in X-FACTOR, anything can happen. And in this issue—everything does! Separated from his teammates and involved in a war he never expected to see, he can only look back on the days when the team stood together. Now—the rebellion has begun!

hey, I was perusing Comicartfans.com and found your cover to the upcoming X-men vs Hulk book very well done, then went to your site, then came to DA, and just wanted to say keep up the amazing work! You are very talented and it's nice to see good art in comics after a few years away from them

Thank you.

I seriously need to update my website so there is some actual content there again, but glad you made it all the way to my deviantart, from CAF.

I actually prefer Deviantart to an isolated website, myself...it's more 'interactive' or somethin' like that hehe

The constant changing of artists is something that started to put me off a long time ago but I kept buying it; until Larry Stroman came on board. I'm not happy to say that his style makes me nauseous, so I dropped the book as long as he drew it.
My question for you, David: have you ever been asked to draw a storyline for the series and if, why did you refuse?

I have not yet been asked to draw an X-Factor story.

Thank you. I'm glad you noticed the characters' individual personalities especially... it's something I always strive to capture with the body language, and facial expressions.

The drawing is great, as always, but your inking is a delight. Organic inks like that are so rare nowadays.

Thanks Richard. I'm actually contemplating switching to inks for a little while, when I get done with these sequentials I'm working on.

The Kevin Nowlan route may be a good one.

I could see you easily being shortlisted by a wide range of pencilers right off the bat. Inkers who can draw are gold.
