Ah I see...
Never really notice that...hmmmmm
I think it is because they are of different texture maps and I've never actually pay attention to the level of brightness for that color.
and it only appears during rendering with the lighting.
Thanks for critique.

Amazing. It looks like something that would belong in an RTS game like StarCraft or Diablo and the like. The design is just plain badass.

I don't think RTS game uses this level of polycount for their models
and Diablo isn't RTS...
SO you're saying Blizzard games
THANKS

Amazed by how great this is. Love everything...except the feet. Something about his boots bother me. Otherwise, amazing man!

Tell me whats wrong so I know where to improve
Not on this one though but I'll take note for my new models
Thanks

My first thing is where the pants end and the boots begin. It reminds me of lego guy feet as it looks like his feet are on a ball joint. Other then that, the boot itself seems a little flat. Most shoes I see have a little arch to them.

And please, take this as help, not as a complaint.

Oh...haha
I actually forgot about the sole arch.
Thanks for mentioning it.
I'll take note next time

I don't like the feet too, they look too much like heavy "Robot" an not like sneaky "Assassin.

The rest is just awesome

wow that's fucking amazing
which programs did you use?

davislim In reply to Kenned333 [2012-04-18 11:51:13 +0000 UTC]

Maya for Model, Photoshop for texturing, marmoset toolbag for rendering

oh right maya XD
anyway your model looks amazing
super cool design, really awesome modelling and it's just enough polys to be efficient in a game
AWESOME job X3

I'm not really sure about actual game polycount budget but I try to not waste any triangles. May not be as efficient at certain areas but I tried my best
Thanks

hehe well no ones perfect :3
I myself try to keep my character at just about 9000 polys :3
Also I use Blender since I'm really not good friends with Maya XD
tried it, spend a week solving a problem at school in Maya, supervised the other students in Maya, but I do prefer Blender :3
Do you also know how to program or is it only the 3D that you're focusing on? ^^

I work on the art and design for gaming...no programing/coding etc

aaaah cool
I myself have learned everything there needs to be done in a game XD
you know how they say: "If you want something done, better do it yourself" :3
but my level is nowhere near yours XD perhaps due to the fact that I've never had any training or teaching in the fields of 3D or 2D XD

But yeah, one can't be good at everything I guess :3 although one can try XD
how long have you been studying to get that good? :3

I spent 3 years studying my course.
It takes a lot of practice and research.
go around forums and explore other people works.
try to understand how they accomplish those brush strokes or edge loops etc.
try to imitate these features and then adapt them as your own.

I still have a long way to go too
me lack of working experience...

hehe Well there's always something new to learn right? ^^
I started really getting into both 3D, 2D, game oriented programming and a lot of other stuff last summer, but I catch on pretty quickly :3
I still have a lot to learn as well, mainly due to the lack of lessons regarding game development in Denmark where I live XD haha
