fun facts
The sketch of this was origonaly the two of them watching two other pups fighting, with a bounch of Nykamar's soon to be followers in the background. The tittle was also origonally going to be "Early obsession" and it was going to be very detailed and epic. But then I got lazy X] So now it's a simple background that I did some experiments with, and just the two of them in by th shape of the border and old time pint out photo. Eh, I;m still very happy with it.

Characters
I think this shows a bit of their personalities. Nykamar being a bit more maniacal and devious, where as Talon is more deviously charming and sly. I also think it shows a bit of their domenance over each other. Even though Nykamar is lying down he still has that alpha leader look that he caries with him, where is Talon is more go with the flow, just tell me what to do sort of character.

background
The background was definantly an experiment, and I think I might try it again. If you all haven't realised already, I tend to like more golds and brown colors in my simple backgrounds. I started off with just having the golden grass and then had the idea of using the gradient tool to have that same gold color fade down from the top to match the grass. then i felt like it needed some darker colors so i shaded the ground, added a sketchy ground in as well. Then the top of the picture looked to plain, so i took the origonal bg color and lightly shaded in some trees and had some fun drawing in leaves and bushes. Then I thought it might be cool to have to sun rays coming throung the trees, but i couldn't get it to look right so i just put in the center light. I think the background came out really nicly, and I think i might try to experiment some more with this sort of light airy style.
