Description Just so you can see how i am progressing, with a fair wind maybe it will finish next weekend.

Missing information, any HELP would be great, on the tender here I am looking for the text information and style of the I presume warning sign top left hand corner here. Also need to confirm text and style of lettering on the rear bogie axle ends bearing covers.

Primarily to give insight of how I produce my Side profile illustrations, as I have to create these initial aids, I have decided to present some 'blueprint drawings' along the way that I need too. These drawings are not replica's of the real thing purely development sketches, obtained from the actual limited resource's available (there appears a lot more on our [UK] loco's), they do therefore contain 'my best interpretation' of certain parts and area's, any constructive comments are / would be gratefully received, as it is unlikely that I will ever see the real thing.

If you are interested in purchasing any of these 'Blueprints' then depending on your requirement, you should down load the file for printing your own personal pictures to use, please go ahead via 'premium content download', the actual file you receive will be a .jpg @ approximately 50% of stated scale. However if you would require to full sized scale drawing as vector key lines (editable in Adobe Illustrator) then e-mail me prior to any downloads.

Bearing caps would most likely have "Timken" cast into them. I Can get more info and photos. Might take a little while, though.

As for the "brass" plaque on the top corner of the tender? Sorry. Got no idea.

OK. I guess the UP preferred SKF bearings on their tenders. The font is pretty much what you see on this page when you write a comment. Though not necessarily what you get when you post said comment.

Fascinating. Your portraits of engines are more beautiful than the illustrated engines in The Great Book Of Trains by Brian Hollingsworth and Arthur Cook.

Thank you, but I was expecting you, yes only you to answer my 2 questions 'Missing information, any HELP would be great, on the tender here I am looking for the text information and style of the I presume warning sign top left hand corner here. Also need to confirm text and style of lettering on the rear bogie axle ends bearing covers. ' The tender may be a latter day item ie 'overhead cables etc.' but would be nice to know, as for the bearing covers I have them as '5XP' if that mean anything to you?

I do not know much about tender announciations on any steam locomotives. On the UP there were no such overhead wire warnings, in fact there arent any on preserved modern day steam locomotives here. I know in Britain, 5XP would mean power rating of five on the BR, with the intent for express passenger. I would have thought the bearing covers would have said "Timken" as to notate the company which made the roller bearings used therein. I wish I could help you more, and I could if it was a mechanical question
