Here's a commission sketch I did for HedgehogUrbieIt's General Helmut Von Stryker, a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog comics, done in my own style!

This has got to be one of the most bad-ass fur's I've ever seen, also, you made Stryker much more ferocious and 'grizzly' looking than in the Sonic comic = way more intense look! O^o awesome work!

I actually never read the Sonic comics, so I guess maybe I came at it from a fresh perspective? My first impression of him really made me think of Big Boss from the Metal Gear Solid games - I think it influenced my design a bit heh.
I read up on him though, and he's really a very interesting character. I think I should check out the comics sometime

I haven't read the Sonic comics in a long while but last time I saw Stryker Β I recall him not being as gruff - although he's suppose to be a gruff character- so THIS is really more fitting.Β

I'm really happy with it - Sometimes, a sketch adds a little roughness or life that lineart can't do. Just a shame I couldn't clean it up more. I would have enjoyed getting rid of some of those faded pencil marks, but the eye-area lost too much impact when I attempted to do it.

The dude appeared FAR too little... do you see him as villain, anti-villain, or anti-hero?

Well, I gotta be honest - I never read the comics myself, so I actually didn't know who this was beforehand. That being said, I did read up on him whilst drawing to try to understand the character and his motivations etc - I might get this totally wrong, but I'd definitely call him an anti-hero. He cares deeply for his people and whether it's truly justified or not, he's fighting against those he deems have oppressed the dingoes and caused them injustice. He's by no means perfect, and you could go into quite some detail over whether he sees the world for what it truly is, but I don't know enough about the story surrounding him to speak too much about that. ^^

This is so awesome and that was very sweet of you to add in some color! This guy is like one of my favorite characters ever and your piece makes an excellent contribution to the fan art world.
