Description
The shading is crap and the pose is boring, but apart from that, I'm quite happy with this. The armor turned out super cool, especially with all the labels and the hex-pattern I put on it. The quality of the line-art overall is pretty good, and I'm quite happy with how the fur tufts turned out. You'll notice I've changed design of the ears - they're a bit more wolf-like now and I'll try to apply that to the comic too. His expression changed a bit from what I was planning to go with in the sketch. I originally wanted a... I dunno, suffering warrior kinda look, but whatevs.

If you're interested in lore, Jackson's is wearing HESA-3 (Hazardous Environment Sealed Armor). This is an advanced form of armor that Starfleet uses when conducting combat missions on planets with pressure/atmospheric properties that may be harmful to humans, as well as in outer space on EVA missions. It comes in five types (1-5), with the HESA-1 being a light weight shell, and HESA-5 being a heavily armored suit. The HESA-3 lies somewhere in the middle. It can be fitted with a rebreather helmet, and a modified version, the HESA-3B, can be sealed for use in a vacuum.

The HESA-3 has flexible segmented armor filled with replaceable lightweight composite armor plating, as well as a pressure system to maintain proper blood flow to the brain, even on high gravity worlds, or under high G-forces. It also has several built in survival-tools. A magnetic holster on the shoulder plates means Jackson never has to carry his rifle in a sling.
His armor comes with a helmet, but since it wouldn't fit his head, he's tossed it.
