Description Out of interest, I've been experimenting with a program called High-Logic FontCreator 5.5 - unfortunately, only a 30-day trial version... after which, I won't be allowed to save or install the fonts I make with it...

Anyway, we've been watching through the Lord of the Rings Trilogy movies again. I've got a certain interest in code-breaking and Tolkien's Dwarfish Runes and Elvish Script fascinate me.
After studying his appendix on languages and writing, I managed to figure out the values of the runes (known as the Angerthas Daeron) and was inspired to make this font.
The table in the preview pic will show you the keyboard commands required for each character.

Based on J.R.R. Tolkien's writings for Lord of the Rings.

Heh, thanks very much!
I was kind of wishing I could adapt the Elvish script as a sort of "shorthand" for taking quick notes, but trying to remember all those symbols is rather tricky...

Lol I'd think so. . . but hey if I could learn English and Afrikaans from scratch then I can teach myself another new language as wellย

And then there's me who never really picked up on languages...
(Mind you, the only option they gave us was boring old French, the people in the listening-tests spoke too fast, and it was also a mandatory subject so we couldn't opt out of it!)
I should have preferred to learn German or something - at least if there had been a choice, I might have found a language I wanted to learn.
These days, I only know a few words of some languages - including an interest in Latin.

Will you make me some fonts if I give you the program$$ ?
It'd be from some scans/pictures if it does that, other font programs I've tried were not very setup for the method I needed to use, but theyre similar codes n alphabeticals that I've drawn myself I call them "tial"

Gimme a msg

Just a quickie to say there's over 20 complete languages including full gramma rules featured throughout the tolkien books all with different rune like lettering. He actually created a civilisation complete with history, dialects and folklore.

Actually, update on that... I found that the runes from the Hobbit are a different kind than this. [link]
Old English runes or something, as opposed to the Dwarfish runes developed for later works.

The second rune table looks like old danish runes which we used 1400 years ago..

That's interesting! I guess Tolkien would have got some ideas from existing runes, though.
