A cute little inspiration I had the other day, when seeing a church-banner with an elephant and a mouse on it.This could later develop into an idea for an animated parable as re-told by animals - the basis being faith and perseverance.
(The actual idea involving this optimistic little mouse and a very negative elephant who needs a boost of self-confidence to get himself out of a scrape)
This little harvest mouse, despite being one of God's smallest rodents, has set his sights on a couple of large red cherries hanging from a low branch.
The tree itself being a bit too high for him to scale directly, he's trying to reach them a branch of a nearby bush - but they're barely within reach. Nevertheless, if faith was measured by size, this tiny harvest mouse would be an elephant... with such detemination, he's sure he can succeed! Just needs a little perseverance...
I may later find time to continue this with a short series of pictures, showing the results of the harvest mouse's efforts.

That's true! If some atheist came up to him and claimed there was no God - even if that person was an elephant or something - Boaz believes he could wipe the floor with them... and he probably would, too! That's how big his faith is!

Not exactly - the rough edges was the way I drew the original pencil image, to give the effect of short soft fur.

ah cool, I saw the pointy way of fur and immediatly thought of the way I draw the spikey fur on my characters

still, I quite like how this turned out, your style is very visible in it yet the coloring is somewhat more detailed then your flash drawings

Yeah, I liked to try and keep true to life - and I find harvest mice have a lovely golden colour to the fur. Probably to fit in with the fields they live in!

I've heard here in the state of California ferrets are illegal
and they don't want people to have them as pets here they want
them to be out in the wild. My cousins had a ferret (I don't know if its still alive)
and they brought him here and nobody in the state didn't care. :3

Very sweet, I like the pose and expression. I also like the message this piece gives out, a useful and simple religious story with a simple message!
Colours are nice and strong, but it'd be nice if you did more texture to the background and the mouse itself- it would really help make this picture stand out boldly. Lighting and more shading would really add to this too.
But who am I to say! Have you seen my stuff?

Yes, maybe I could have improved the background a bit. The mouse himself was mainly drawn up in Flash, so shading effects were added later in Photoshop - maybe the shading needed deepening a bit?
