Description

The Kaynoids are a benevolent race of alien cube-dogs originating from the distant planet Kayoob, in orbit around the "Dog Star" Sirius – a strange cube-shaped planet where all the flora and fauna naturally grows in straight lines (as opposed to the natural curves of nature on any other planet)
((Note: NOT Minecraft-related))
For many cycles, they have developed as an intergalactic civilisation, trading with and colonising other worlds in their quest for knowledge and understanding of the galaxy.

Their travels have also brought them into contact with their near-neighbours on Earth. Unfortunately the dominant human species are too warlike and primitive, prone to shoot first and ask questions later... and they have a bad habit of killing and surgically dissecting any alien lifeform they don't understand. As such, the Kaynoids have been quite unable any meaningful contact with Earth and forced to keep any reconnaissance as strictly low-profile as possible. Instead, a protocol codenamed Operation Ghostwatch is observed, wherein they keep a planet under surveillance, quietly protecting Earth from interstellar threats whilst keeping their presence a secret.

It is under these tricky conditions that a task-force tries to make contact with the Earthlings. Trying to make a new effort to communicate with Earth, Squeeron's taskforce are sent down as envoys to barter peace with the humans leaders.
However, what they instead receive is a close brush with a rogue human army, led by a gung-ho trigger-happy "Leeroy Jenkins" loony of a general, Buster Gutt, whose interference ruins the otherwise positive talks and forces the Kaynoids to withdraw, with the human president being very ticked off at General Gutt.

Meanwhile, Squeeron's task-force find themselves stranded on Earth after their scoutship is damaged by gunfire and therefore unable to safely leave the planet's stratosphere.
Fortunately, they soon come into contact with the Dan Clan, who despite some initial communication problems soon befriend the Kaynoids and become their unlikely allies, even employing the help of scientists Albert Einspine and Heinrich Schäferhund to help them fix their vessel.
They also have face a common foe threatening their way of life... for now, the fanatical General Gutt is also attempting to hunt down the aliens, even to illegally invading the neutral United Animal Kingdom itself to find them, regardless what innocents get in his way!

The main Kaynoid characters are:

Group-Captain Squeeron Hypotenuse – the tall slim and heroic blue leader of the team. Squeeron is undisputed captain of his starship and tends to lead from the front when the situation calls for it. Level-headed (literally and figuratively), optimistic and intelligent, he is a dedicated senior-ranking member of the Kaynoid Space Force. Although not sure what to make of the Dan Clan on their first meeting, he was ultimately pleased to form an unlikely alliance.
Here, he's looking up some notes on his portable K-Pad, which is a standard piece of equipment for any Kaynoid. Like our modern smartphones, it is has many uses such as communication, information and recreation.

Star-Commander Lateral Sirfus – a petite female Kaynoid with magenta fur. Though generally the fur of a Kaynoid can come in various shades, females tend to be more brightly-coloured. The very top brass in the KSF, Lateral is the one to whom Squeeron answers for mission-briefings.
On hearing about the Dan Clan, Lateral was both surprised and impressed to hear that contact was made with Earthlings that actually didn’t involve getting shot at or dissected.
Although her high-ranking position requires her to lead from a flagship or command base computer console, her tactical mind is the coordinating glue that ensures the KSF runs efficiently.

Wing-Commander Rubik Skewb – a short and stout (trapezoid) violet Kaynoid, and Squeeron's best friend and wingman. Very much a complementary pair with his friend and superior, Rubik is a rather gruff personality and more of a realist, therefore initially more sceptical of the Dan Clan than Squeeron – until they’re actually seen to prove themselves, and then they find they have a true comrade-in-arms.
Here, he’s seen brandishing a standard-issue KSF plasma-blaster.

Rhombo – a stocky orange female Kaynoid. With her analytical mind, she splits her time between studying the strange and exotic natural wonders of Earth and advising Squeeron on a solid action-plan.
Her K-Pad has a scanner feature built into it.

Pal – a turquoise Kaynoid and older brother of Ellogram. He is quite strongly built and works alongside his brother as a technician. He is also one of Squeeron’s best canids.

Ellogram – a turquoise Kaynoid and younger brother of Pal. Smaller than his brother, he makes up for size with a brilliant mind for all things technical. He and Pal always work together. He is also one of Squeeron’s best canids.
