The home of the Kaynoids — the Planet Kayoob. (Scientific codename: K9)
Finally got round to finishing this. I'd drawn the planet and flying spaceship sometime ago, but the spacescape needed blacking over.

Placed in orbit around the Dog Star Sirius, the Kaynoid homeworld could be considered one of the nearest neighbours we have that is actually inhabited. It's particularly notable in that all natural life on the planet grows in straight lines, rather than the curves we're used to on Earth.
Effectively a binary-star, there are two celestial bodies in proximity to Kayoob. The bigger Sirius A is the sun-star that provides daylight and warmth to the planet. The smaller Sirius B is a white-dwarf, and so gives off no more light than a luminescent "moon" that is visible at night.
Due to the angle at which Kayoob is positioned as it orbits its mother-star, the northern face of the planet is mainly nearest to Sirius, and under the constant glare it ends up being dry and arid. By contrast, the sourthern face is away from the sun-star and gets virtually no light, leaving it cold and dark.
As Kayoob revolves on its axis, the four side-faces get a much more regular day-night cycle and a relatively temperate climate, thanks to the off-centre tilt.
(At least, that's the way I tried to figure it)
