I absolutely love this one, hon. It certainly takes ya back. I would hope that all of us tried this very stunt at least once during our childhood... or adulthood...
My little brother and I still strive to someday do this. It'd be scary as hell but one damn fine achievement!
Flawless pacing and this is probably my favorite of the series. Good stuff!

*howls with laughter* oh that's grate, Iโve always tried to do that, but then vertigo kicked in, ah that was grate, indeed one of the best strips in your archive, I want to read that again. Definitly one to fave.

That is fifty miles beyond the city limits of Awesometown, boldly moving forward into a lawless no man's land of asskicking! I have to admit, I've never been man enough to attempt the eniter 360 degrees on a swing before. I always had this vision of my own inertia stopping dead as I was right over the top bar, and falling in a comical Wile E. Coyote fashion to split my skull open. I have similar reservations about sliding down staircase railings. Anyway, superior asskickery, keep up the great work!

that kid is the shit. so awesome. the coolest of the cool. im sure after that amazing feat he was a dropout cuz he was too cool for school. no way could that be his greatest life accomplishment. once you've done something like that its established you'll continue on to superhero status, maybe sainthood or be appointed the new pope (the pope can do the 360 over the swing set? man, i had no idea!) or even ruler of the world- ok, maybe thats pushing it (but hey, that kid didnt need anyone to PUSH him...on the swing.) hee.
but yeah, totally bad. love the angles and point of view of this piece. nice work. woot woot!

Some people tried it until they broke everything. Some people even did it again after that. Then there's me.

Oh god, the treachery of the swingset . Dude, great comic man. I really liked the punchline, and how he said "WOOT!" Very nice work

Oh man, you know what this reminds me of? Did you watch old school Nickelodeon? There was a claymation short they played every now and then called Inside Out Boy. He turned inside out because he swung over the swing set. It wasn't that good...but this...this is gold.

Oh man, I love swings. They paved the area where we used to jump off the swings, so now it's considerably more dangerous. i was always too much of a weenie to ever jump from any great hieght, so we would just jam our feet down and put on the "air brakes" to stop as fast as we could.

I think the panel with 'oh holy crap' may have been more effective without the speech at all. Just a swingset with two vertical bits of rope. The comment at the end is too good though; it's things like that we boasted about as kids... haha.

The comment is almost as funny as the visual display. Amazing job here and thanks for a much-needed laugh!

I might be remembering this wrong, but when we were younger there was this park close by to my house, and there was this guy there, must have been about...20 or something, used to push us on the swings, totally dodgy in retrospect, but I'm sure he used to get us 360 round...

I remember I was always scared to jump off of the swings, so I would considerably slow down before jumping. But once I took off when my swing was practically parallel to the top bar, and I landed on my face. There was sand in my eyes, deep in my nose, in my hair, in my mouth, and even in my ears. That was so sweet.
Awesome comment, my favorite thing is the "woot!"

...i managed to do 360 round the seat of the swing landing on my nose. now THATS embarassing. 360 on the swing i imagine looks impressive in comparison...
GREAT CARTOON

Haha, love that butt in the air
I never tried for that 360', but I miss my swingset and really would like to have one now...

mikepav [2005-04-10 10:44:07 +0000 UTC]
the full 360, that was impossible. but the most fun was swinging as hard as you can for the whole recess, then when the bell rang, we all would take our last pump of the legs and FLY off the set into the sand. we always tried to see whol could fly the furthest. faceplants were acceptable, and the best was when you were still picking the and out of your hair walking home from school.
just typing this makes me want to jump the wall from my cul-de-sac to the elementary school and go swing... man i havent had a good swingin in years. but it is like a quarter to 4AM and i am in my boxers, i think i would get in trouble trespassing on the campus under those circumstances.

Hey I swear I got damn close one time.
Actually...I was just proud of myself for making the swings work without my parents' help.
Course now my hips are too wide to fit in the swings without it hurting like hell.
I need an adult swingset.
