Hey everyone!Woah! I'm late! Well, not really since I TECHNICALLY claim to post by Monday and it's just before midnight here, but I usually have the strip up by Saturday night, so I FEEL like I'm late. What what could I do? It was my BIRTHDAY yesterday and I was livin' it up, vida loca style! If vida loca means having mimosas and sundaes for breakfast and spending the whole day in a fuzzy haze. Hey, I had to ring in my 27th year on the planet the right way, didn't I? Woo!
It also didn't help that I bought myself BOOM BLOX as a birffday treat. Just one more distraction in my already distracted life. But not distracted enough to keep me away from drawin' cartoons! Nope, it's time for the Momma Box part 2, where for the first time ever, opening the Momma Box doesn't bring joy and wonderment but instead brings disappointment and horror.
Has Momma had enough? Is this the end of tax-free treats? Stay tuned next week when Brown gets to the bottom of this travesty. But I dunno, man. It's hard to win a fight against your Momma...

Maria Taylor and Johnathan Rice. i really like their albums, but they just don't translate well to a live setting. also it was their second day on tour, and Maria's backing band seemed to not be very well practiced.
Maria played drums for Jonathan Rice during his opening set, and that was much better than Maria's set. but she played a lot of new songs that aren't going to be released until some time next year.

Ugh! New songs. The bane of the live performance. C'mon guys! Play some songs we know already! You scared me, because for a second I thought you said "Jonathan Richman," which I've got tickets to see on the 21st. I've been pumped to see him forever! Hope that show fairs a little better than the one you saw.
